Maybe use a torch to heat up the outter part of it? Just a thought. But, I really think if you keep up your current approach that you will eventually work them free.

I agree with kebo, they should break free. was this tractor stored outside?

I am a great fan of PB Blaster. Let it sink in and spray again. Every 30 minutes or so. Do this several times. It has a carrier which thins it out and makes it move into smaller cracks and crevices.

Ditto w/BobRip Great product-PB Blaster! ~S

yep.. that and heat / cool / quench cycles should break it free.

thank u all for respons, heat and wd40 finaly freed them they were realy frozen, i had to put ball in vise and shake back and forth, i will pick up a can off that pb blaster .

wd 40 is great if you get water on your distrib cap.. or need to remove stickers from glass.. but that's about it.. as a penetrant.. you might as well use spit ... it would work better.. pb is light years better than wd-40 as a penetrant.

AeroKroil or Kroil beats PB blaster hands down! I've had to undo two inch nuts off bolts that's been washed in sea water, then sat for over a year on the docks. I used just about every penetrating oil on the market. Kroil worked the best. Spray on, went to lunch, put a two inch socket on the end of a 3/4 inch breaker bar, worried the nut back and forth several times, and it spun off. Worked every time like this. PB and most of the other oils, I had to use more force and it took longer.

kroil is 'order only' around here.. and by the time you pay shipping.. you could have bought a case of pb blaster. So far I've not found a nut that wouldn't come off with pb, that was going to come off. I have had to cut a few off.. and the condition those were in.. well.. they were destined to be cut off no matter what oil you put on them.

if kroil had some local distribution.. it might get used more..

I've been telling my older brother I'm going to be visiting him. He lives somewheres in South Palm Beach. What's a box of Kroil to a F-250? :D

eh?

Kroil is darn good stuff, I see the PB blaster in quite a few places I visit, never see the kroil alway's mail order it.

Anyone ever clean up the three point pivots and then spray them with a dry film lube like Graphite or Moly, instead of grease or oil?

Have fun

I don't lube mine -usually-.. just working them keeps em loose.

Messin with you. :D If you want some, I can pick up several cans and send them. There's tons of industrial hardware warehouses around here that'll be happy to sell a box or two.

Haven't I read somewhere that a mixture of acetone and transmission fluid works great? Mebbe in a dream? lol

transmission oil, mixed with a bunch of different types of slvents have been backyard mechanics 'penetrating oil' of choice for years. i usually mix atf + diesel, or kerosene, or mineral spirits, or naptha.. depending on what i have on hand.. or what I'm doing.

Hmm.. now there's a thought.. I've only been looking for froil at retail outlets. etc.. I think I'll hit our local mechanic and industrial / contractor supply houses.

thanks for the idea.
