Okay, I feel horrible, I started this thread and for some reason was not getting notified of messages. My fault for not checking. So, I got the tractor down to my local small engine mechanic and he worked with the dealer to figure out the problem. The cable needed to be replaced. Apparently there was a recall on it. Based on how it is installed, every time you used the shifter, it rubs on the cable and eventually wears a hairline tear into it. It then fills up with water, and presto, it's frozen. So the cable is replaced, and while he was in there, he found a broken fuel line, also a recall item. Since I am not the original owner, and bought it 1 year old, I own the $1000 bill. I am going to pick up the tractor right now.
Hopefully this thread helps anyone else with a Mahindra 5035 PST.
