Fuel hose / Tractor cab question

I built a cab for my BX2360. To refuel, I need to run a hose off of a funnel through an opening in the back of the cab into the fuel fill. Will standard rubber hose be ok to use with diesel fuel? Because I already found out the hard way that plastic cups are NOT a good measuring tool for diesel additives (especially when said cup is left on wife's kitchen counter).

Good question. I would imagine to only use those hoses from auto stores made for fuel lines. I really don't see the harm using a radiator hose as well as its made for harsh environments.

So you spilled power service on your countertops in kitchen?

When I get a new power service bottle, I mark off the increments in 5 gallons marks and use a black marker like a sharpie. This way when I fill up with my 5 gallon jug, I know exact amount to put in and if I put in too much- it won't hurt a thing, but I know how much to hold back next time since the BX tank is moree then 5 gallons. :thumbsup: No problems using this method so far for over 4 years.

One should actually use a neoprene hose(it's made for fuel use), but in a pinch I've used any hose available.

Oil products can degrade regular rubber(sometimes fairly quickly), so be careful what you use.

A simpler way is put the additive in the fuel not the tractor tank .
