Cowboydoc, they've done that before, and it didn't do much good. Even government agencies have stood up and said there's price gouging going on and it hasn't done much good. About the only time I've seen the government do anything is if the gas station is caught price gouging. When we started bombing in Afghanistan, most of the stations here in Michigan jumped gas prices. There were lines at the gas pumps that evening because everyone was afraid prices would jump and they wouldn't be able to get gas. Most of the stations jumped prices about 20 cents a gallon. A very few, however, almost doubled prices because they had heard war rumors. I was quite pleased to see our then State Attorney General ferret out these weasels. There were some heavy fines and some refunds passed out. If the same thing ever happens again, get a receipt when you buy that high priced gas. Those people who had receipts got refunds. (It helps to have a paper trail).
