Here in the Triangle area of North Carolina I've been paying about 1.59 or 1.62 per gallon for a long time now. It was down to 1.59 this week. I think the price may have spiked a bit higher but I would have to check my log to make sure. If I travel to my JD dealer which is 30-45 minutes west of where I currently live, I can get the fuel for at least 10 cents cheaper. I'n not sure if that is because of local taxes, fuel distribution factors, or just local greed.

The cheapest I have ever paid for diesel for my 1995 truck was around .95 cents in GA.

Harv,
Full service does exist some places, but not like when we were growing up. /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

Had to pay $1.239 for gas today; last tank was $1.209, but most places are a dime higher, and on road diesel is still about $1.539.

Yeah, and for about 3 years I was the guy who did the service and handed out those glasses and green stamps./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif What a racket Sperry & Hutchinson had?

Straight unleaded can be had for $1.15 a gallon at some stations around KC. Oregon used to have a requirement for full serve gas in the entire state. That wasn't full serve like the old days, just some attendant pumps it for you. I don't know if they still have that law.

A little late getting to this post, better late than never.
Lately I've spent so much time in the truck I haven't even noticed prices on unleaded.
The Fina where I normally fill my truck, has diesel for $1.45. Truck stops East of San Antonio on IH 10 are close to that. At one location where a Trans America and a Flying J are across the highway from each other, they sometimes battle and I've seen it go down to $1.37. An Exxon has it for $1.48 and will deduct 10 cents/gal if you pay cash.
