Wayne, I have a leaf river game cam with the infrared flash, so it wont get stolen off the tree its mounted on. I got some great pics of some monster bucks in my back yard. It will also do a video shot, and you can view the pictures while its still on the tree.

Im holdidng out for bigfoot, chupacabre, or aliens to walk in front of it, but I wont hold my breath waiting:rolleyes:

Eddie - those are really good pictures from your cam. Thanks for posting them.

I set up a Recon IR about a month ago near my feeder and the 2nd pic I got was a black bear. I also received a Moultrie 4.1 for Christmas and set it up last weekend. Unfortunately my cams are 3.5 hours away, so I don't get to check as often as I would like, but after getting the pic of the bear I am hooked now, kind of like a kid waiting on Christmas - I can't wait to check the cams again to see what new pics I have on them.

I made a few errors in setting up my cam initially - and found this site that helped me out - hopefully it will be useful to others who are using cams or considering the use thereof: Welcome to Chasingame - Trail and Scouting Camera Reviews and performance ratings

Ernie,
Here's some help....use mapquest to get the distance between us, figure 20 miles a day, allow some days for rest and a few days for scaring isolated individuals with vivid imaginations, and you'll have the arrival time because........

Chupacabra was here night before last for his annual holiday celebration with Bigfoot. They're usually here longer, but the aliens arrived two days ago and scared them off. And no, I do NOT have pictures...that's why I'm asking about a trail camera.;)

Ernie,

It's funny that you mentioned bigfoot. We have a yearly convention in this area for bigfoot believers. They come with all there pictures and video of him and then do what they do when they all get together. It makes the news and is good for a few laughs, but otherwise, the same old stories.

If you have any good wildlife pics, I'd sure love to see them!!!

No hogs at the feeder last night, but there are fresh tracks on all my roads around it. I put out the last of the Christmas turkey under the feeder the other day and i kind of think that backfired on me. Everytime I try to do something extra for the hogs, they disapear. I need to learn to leave the corn alone.  :(

The turkey (Greenberg) did bring in teh vultures. I had a dozen pictures of them, but this is the best one.

Thanks,
Eddie

Thanks for the link!!!

I'd love to see some pictures that you have from your cam, especially the bear. We don't have them here, but there have been a few sightings in the East Texas area. Steph is terrified that we'll get them here one day, but she's just plain scared of bears. :D

I agree with you on it becoming addictive. It's also turned into a family event where we all go down to check on the camera and see what's on it. Everyday is a suprise!!!! :)

OK, new discovery here. Steph is my bird expert because she's really into the differnt birds we have here and identifying them. Nothing quite like discovering a new species!!!

I asked her why those vultures had two different colored heads, so she looked up vultures in one of her bird books. The one with the red head is a Turkey vulture and very common around here. The ones with the black heads are Black vultures. The bood says they are common and all over the place, but until now, we never noticed it.

You may want to view the pics first before letting the family see them. If one of your bud's knows where that camera is well you may just get a surprise you were not expecting "STREAKER" :). Its been known to happen.

Ernie has some outstanding pictures....including one of a cougar app. 20' behind a deer in the dark--the deer appears clueless. I thought I saved that and some others but can't find them at them moment.

So to those who know such things how expensive would it be to set up a remote camera that fed my PC from a distance of app. 120' (the lot behind our barn)?
