Gas cans

Not the EXACT same. No CARB here.. Thats for you americans :D We still have the sense to not regulate gas can spouts... Who knows for how much longer though... You should make a road trip across the border and get some proper nozzles.

Is this the nozzle on yours?

Not quite the same nozzle, but close enough. I wish some slick legal group would get together and get everyone who bought a CARB gas can outside of the state of California a free non-CARB replacement nozzle. Worthless crap.

The non-CARB nozzles are on ebay, but 5USD plus another 8-10USD for shipping, that's getting to the point of just buying another can.

Wow!

A gas can law. ??

I had no idea that this was going on, I am in Canada also.
That is the craziest thing I have ever heard of, I am going out to stock up tomorrow.
Then again the six red scepter cans with yellow flex and rigid spouts. They have now have lasted at least ten years each and all. How many will I need? To avoid this kind of environmental mental-ism?

I hate the spouts on the new cans but I've found a great solution. Its called a jiggle siphon. Its basically a clear plastic hose with a copper end on it. Inside of the copper end is a 1 way check valve. You put that end into the gas can and jiggle it up and down. It starts the fuel siphoning. I set my gas cans up high, use the jiggle siphon and go do other things while my tank fills up. It empties a 5 gallon can pretty quickly and you don't have to stand there holding the can. This option also means you no longer care what kind of spout the can has.

You can buy jiggle siphons at a lot of local stores. I bought mine at a local fleet store.

Just don't buy them at Harbor Freight- theirs are lousy, the check ball is improperly sized and sticks in the copper part, so they are useless.
I have one I got at Northern Tool that works great...cost a lot more though.
My favorite is an outboard primer bulb/hose for transferring fuel.

I've now switched over to the 5 gallon metal Jerry Can style for gas...don't like the volatile components of the gasoline escaping through the plastic, makes 'em fume up an enclosed area like my truck shell or enclosed trailer and eventually ruins the fuel.
HF has the MidWest ones for $40, with the ever present 20% off coupon they run $32....

I just cut into a fuel line on the truck, install a 3 way valve, add a VW mechanical EFI pump, some hose and a switch.
Everywhere I go I have 3 gas cans with me.
2 in 18 gallon saddle tanks and one 20 gallon main stock fuel tank.
They go everywhere with me, never get in the way, never forget to take them to the gas station, I never have the mower run out and "****! I forgot to fill the gas can!"
