GAS LINE PROBLEM

We had a leak at the meter. I did not notice it until I got that months bill. The bill was over twice what it normally was. I saw the bill and thought that we did nothing unusual for the month. I then began checking for leaks with real soapy water. I found the only leak on our side of the meter on the threaded part of the meter. It bubbled not much. I called the gas company and they sent a gut right out. He said that the leak was not that bad. I told him or bill went from 35 to 88 dollars and I thought it was bad enough. He ended up changing the meter and I ended up paying for the leak.
