I'll bet MF will ask if you followed the "Parking Safely" instructions in your user manual.
I'll refer to everything I've posted so far....as well as others...."a parking brake is just that"..........for "parking".
When attorneys get involed, anything can happen, as with Toyota.........
But I would be willing to bet that the Agco would lose.
(Toyota was guilty, even though they have proof that it wasn't their fault).
EDIT: Toyota has proof that the operators never touched the brake pedal.

Probably the best thing to do at this time , is to refer you to your previous post where you said we were operating our machines incorrectly.
Then you can start at the beginning of the thread...........specifically the "parked portion" with the operator "off the tractor"..........then tell us how your post was relevant to this thread.

Are you aware that I never said the two things you have in quotes.

I am not sure why you picking a fight with me, I never said anything about you, or your machine, or how your operating it.

I was addressing a post criticizing the brakes made by someone else, who felt they were not powerful enough.

Probably the best thing to do in the future would be to either quote, or name the person you are directly speaking to, because the way it appeared in the forum was as a general statement to all GC owners.
That was the part that I took offense to, and let my feelings be known.
But I would like to add, that you did in fact say the things I quoted...........I quoted your post directly.

Don, I don't know what to tell you.

I did quote the person I was addressing.

I'm not a GC owner and really not looking to get in the middle of this, but I have to agree with Don that it did come across that way.

Just my :2cents: worth.

I guess you did.

I missed that too.

That's why I normally don't say anything and keep my mouth shut...
...I end up sticking my foot in it if I don't.:D

My response:
"The brakes aren't working, because your using the machine incorrectly."

It was addressed to a specific person, and referring to a specific situation, where he was trying to use them to stop.

If someone else decides to read that and decide I was referring to them, I don't know what more to say. Other than I am sorry I tried to help explain how he is supposed to use the brakes.

I apologize if I read it wrong.
Us GC owners have a serious problem here, and we are trying our best to get the problem rectified.
I ended up buying a dangerous machine, that apparently has had a serious design flaw for quite a few years.
I'm a truck driver......over the road...........I'm gone for a week at a time, and I've just spent 17 grand for a machine that could cause the death of my wife, or an innocent traveler on the highway in front of my house.
Lot's to think about when your driving up and down the highway in an 18 wheeler.

In Ray's defense, I believe he was trying to make everyone with a GC aware that the brake pedal on these tractors is NOT a brake pedal in the "true sense" of the description. Folks hear it referred to as a "brake pedal" and tend to associate it with the brakes on an automobile. He's right, on a hydro tractor, that's not the case. I'll even go it one step further; hope like h**l you are not travelling down an incline and accidently knock the selector into neutral. If you are unfortunate enough to do so and have no loader or rear mounted implement to use as a drag anchor your "brake" pedal will only suffice as a place to anchor your foot as you brace for impact.

Thank you, I was actually only trying to make one person aware of how the brakes work.

Perhaps, issues like you describe, as well as the parking brake issues discussed in this thread, could be eliminated if they redesigned the transmission to fluid lock the drive wheels, when it is not being used.

My father has a large zero turn mower that does this. It has no parking brake at all.

The drawback is, you can't push it, or tow it, with the drive wheels on the ground. So, if it dies in the middle of 5 acres, it's a pain.

But, it can not roll away, (which Wacky will attest is a bigger pain).
