"I think I am beginning to anoy the dealer... oh well"

If they really have that kind of attitude, it may be time to run, not walk, to another one who values your business.

I get really frustrated hearing about other people getting crappy service from a dealer (like I did) who is trying to sell you a VERY expensive piece of equipment.

I just can't understand where they get these guys. Almost every one I've been into acts like they have no concept whatsoever of how to treat a customer....

Sorry for the rant. Now, back to the regularly scheduled posting...

In 2007 I paid $21,000 at 0%/36 months for:
2520 Tractor, R4's
200 CX Loader
46 Backhoe (extra hydraulic circuit included)
13" upgrade bucket on Hoe
Rear Work Lights
Brush Guards on Hazard Lights
JD Weight Box

All items installed by dealer (except Weight Box). They also did the rear wheel swap to widen the stance without being prompted to do so.

A few things to keep in mind;
(A) Make sure dealer includes 3-point hitch hardware on delivery. I have heard cases where tractors are delivered with backhoe attached. Later on down the road the owner has the need to drop hoe off and use a 3-point rear implement......Oops, no hardware.

(B) Their should be no charge for the hood guard...it is included in the price of the 200CX (I have heard of cases that because the hood guard can be bought as a separate item, the dealer will charge separately for it).

(C) Weight Box....my dealer did not list this out separately on the bill of sale. He left me with the impression that this was also included in the price of the loader....all I know is that one came off the delivery truck (another reason to make sure you get the 3-point hardware).

Nearly a year after taking delivery, my dealer upgraded the 3-point arms to the new style at no charge.

I have been very happy with the unit....I am sure you will also.

The first JD dealer that I went to was one that I had done parts business with before, but when I wanted to buy a tractor it felt like they weren't interested in my business. I left and have never been back.

At the second dealer I went to, I had a great sales experience and found their office staff to be outstanding with paperwork and financing. But then the shop really spoiled it when it came to setting up the tractor. They didn't have all the right parts, they didn't have a process for insuring that all the parts were in for a job until the tech was ready to do the work and then discovered that he couldn't. It was like the keystone cops. I finally had to demand that they deliver the tractor unfinished and take it back to finish the work after they were sure they had all the parts to do it. Then they still had to make a trip to my house to replace a fractured hydraulic line, and I had to redo some of the setup that was never right.

Bottom line: I hope that those in the process of reading this thread and buying a tractor have a good experience all around, no matter what you end up paying.

kind of happened to me as well....they didnt swap tires like had asked... twice.(they filled'em, so they had them off anyway) The delivery person said "The mechanic said it wouldnt make much difference ":mad:.Installed the power beyond but didnt give me the seat belt clip they had to take off ,since it used the same mounting location...when I realized it was missing a couple of days later ,they couldnt find it. They ordered me another one 3 weeks ago, still havent seen it.

Well I finalized the deal this afternoon. Thanks to all your guidance. In the end I got a 2520 with a 200CX and 72" MMM. R4 tires, the heavy duty 61" bucket with level guage, and the rear power beyond. The rears will be filled with rim guard and oh yea they are going to weld a chain grab hook on the bucket. I am trading my Satoh 650G and my 1988 JD 180 in on it. He said it should be ready to deliver in about 2 weeks.

Thanks again.

I'm sure you will be happy. Keep us posted on how the setup and delivery goes. I'm curious as to how your dealer does with that as compared to my experience.
