JohnS,
Its ok to vent. It does help. We where very lucky in that we
found a good group of three different vet practices to help
Chase. None of the vets had a problem working with each
other.
My wife found an dog cancer group on the Internet. They
have been more than helpful. I think they helped my wife
try different ideas and medicines for Chase. There is a lot of
information and new drugs that your vet may not know about.
If you want I can ask my wife on the address/website of the
group. The vets only thought Chase had a couple of months
tops but she was able to have almost 9 months of time and
only the last 2-4 weeks where bad. The vets really expected
Chase to go quickly. I'll never know for sure but I think the
reason Chase lasted as long as she did is from the effort my
wife put into Chase. And much of what she did was with
infomation from the cancer group. They might not be able to
help you situation but maybe they can....
I think my wife found out from the cancer group that vets
will make house calls to put a pet to sleep. That really
suprised me. Having a pet put to sleep in your house is not
for everyone but it was absolutely the best thing that could
have happened for Chase and us. It made the whole
unavoidable event much less stressful for Chase and us...
