Good evening all. 31ºF for the start, mostly clear sky, light breeze. Light wind, clear sky and high temp was 62ºF. Watched chapel on FB live to start day, made fire in insert and made pancakes for breakfast. Then energy conservation for most of the rest of the day. Step daughter gave me some beef pot pie. and smoked brisket .
Ron sorry not much progress on branch pick up. Feeding burn pile nice job considering temps. Hope you got out some. Nice cardinal

Good morning, the low is 25 and the high to 34°F. Wind N 5 mph. Cloudy.

I broke the watch band on the company watch the other day. I am now wearing my back up watch, a self winding sweep second hand luminous dial, date watch. I will get it fixed when I go to North Bay on Wednesday.

No tall that much on the agenda for today.

Coffee has been poured. 30° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 38° with peeks of sunshine. I did get out and stoke the burn pile. With neighbors help trimmed on more tree in my yard. Then watch end of 24 hour Rolex race in Daytona. Started to watch Lions game but fell asleep before kickoff. At least they put up a good fight. Maybe next year. Annual health physical today.

I'm not sure he fixed it either

I planted my pansy seeds last night, they are really really small.
the growing medium I had was too coarse for them, have finer ground stuff coming in.

Tuesday some grow lights come in, should be interesting to light up my living room for several months.
That will get the neighbors talking...but they all know one way or another I will be growing food for them.
Every neighbor got at least one bag of tomatoes or peppers last year.

am hoping bankruptcy of Evergrande, China's largest property developer, does not screw up our stock market.
interesting that communist countries have bankruptcies too, just another way of sticking it to the banks
It's a dissolution bankruptcy also, no work out. That country way overbuilt and now are paying the price.

where they are doing amazingly well is in car production, Tesla and BYD are competing for top EV manufacturer worldwide.
I wonder how they Chinese are dealing with EV charger challenges.
BYD is huge with plants in five countries, car magazines are starting to review their cars
I wonder if Chinese safety specs are in the same league as ours.

These are not Yugos, remember those terrible cars? Anyone know someone who owned one?

31° now highs around 38° with winds picking up from N 10-20 mph. Looks like 4-5” heavy wet snow so far, supposed to be over by 9:00 am.

Yesterday was a quiet day, started to sort through a book case to pare down and donate some books but wound up getting lost in a bunch of gardening books.

Today will be snow cleanup when it stops snowing and I’ve had an appropriate amount of coffee.

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

33.3F, going to low 40a, might see some sun later this afternoon, looks like we dodged the wintry mix.

Yesterday was a dreary drizzly day, spent most of it ensuring the couches did not wander off. Pork loin in applesauce was excellent! Device needed charge when I was ready to serve, here is the best I could do for pix:

woodstove was nice, hvac didn’t run at all from 11AM on.

work today, Harry goes to playhouse, Bailey gets a quiet day, lather/rinse/repeat.

A successful and fun day! I was getting ready to start watering the outside stuff, when the son came over looking for me.... the GS's were getting ready for a launch.

And successful launches (6) were made! The first 4 were done with "A" powered engines. Got to around 4-500'. Parachuted back to within 50' of the pad..... Then tried the "C-6-5" engines..... yep, out of sight except for the 'pop' and visualization of the 'chute.
Wind was definitely stronger up that high --- 1st shot landed in the North neighbor's yard 5 acres away. Launch pad readjustment, 2nd shot straight up, but drifted with the 'chute over into the East neighbor's pasture, also 5 acres away.....

Needless to say, the last 4 engines are saved for another day. The GS's were excited and had a great time. They didn't think the rockets went so high! This spring they will get indoctrinated to the R/C hobby. I think the son enjoyed it as much as his sons did!

I dug out the last 2 remaining rockets that I had from maybe 25 years ago.... a standard one, and the big Saturn V ...... the GS's were ooooing and aaahhhing..... told them they were theirs now....
Talk about eyes getting big......

Then I finally got to the watering......

With the cost of things, you might want to DIY if they really get into it…
