Morning all,
Finally on my second cup of coffee and a couple of breakfast burritos down. Had to go up to the VA this morning for a blood draw. So on the road at 7:30, stuck and back home by 9:30 so it was a quick trip and almost no wait. Sitting here now looking at the 3 pieces of tape they stuck on my arm and thinking damn that's going to smart when it comes off.
Nice cool morning today at 52F after a heavy dew last night supposed to only get to 69F today which sounds good to me.
May get out and do some weed whacking today with the nice weather.

To all say safe and enjoy;

Good morning! Low of 47°, going up to 81°. Seems like rinse and repeat all week. I'll take the nice temps for sure!

Successfully completed trimming the last willows. Then took the hose and blasted probably 80% of the aphids off. The soap / detergent trick will be next..... Still haven't decided which application method would work best....

Ken, wish your son a belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
I missed the post....

Plowhog, stay safe! Don't wait too long to leave.

Drew, have a nice drive to the next destination. Thanks for posting the pics.

Dennis, hope the geo replacement goes easily.
Just remember you were younger when you installed it.... be careful!

Everyone have a great day!

Quick update: when it got light, I was amazed that the fire had settled down so much. Great excuse to post a picture of the sky in background with Rigby in foreground lol. On his favorite-- the teeter totter. Still some smoke visible but not anything like 12 hours ago.

Fire size 6,500 acres, still 0% containment. Forecast today is similar to yesterday-- winds of 20-25mph. Fire really blew up yesterday in winds of 30mph, but I think we will be OK.

Good Morning!!!! 75F @ 7:15AM. A mix of clouds and sun. Hot. High 101F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.
Yesterday was hot, too, almost a hundred.
Can you send the old well controller board in for repair for a spare?
I talked to their tech support, and they didn't even have a part number for me. And would not repair the board, either. No wonder that model is discontinued, but that just made finding another one more difficult and expensive. Now the delivery is a day late; good thing the bad part has not totally disabled the pump.
To the east, historic Virginia City is also at risk, depending on which way the wind blows.
Sorry to read about the Davis Fire, PH. 6500 acres just now when I checked, but that was for last night. When you can see flames it's too close for comfort. Especially when the winds are strong. A few years ago one called the Bear Fire ran 28 miles overnight and almost made it into Oroville before they got it stopped. I've defied evacuation orders two or three times now. Never got much sleep, getting up every half hour to orbit the outside of the house looking for falling embers. But neighbor that left could have saved his house when a smoldering tree fell onto one corner. A garden hose would have been enough to put it out.

Corner hardware store showed me a shark fitting when I had trouble soldering some copper tubing in one of the bathrooms down south. I was dubious it would seal, but it's been fine. Fingers crossed it stays that way. He also showed me how to push the end of the fitting in to get it back off if I had to. Something like that might work for Drew's leaking MH.

Saturday morning I hauled 10 gallons of water up to the cul-de-sac and used it to wash the gate in preparation for painting. Yesterday morning I used up all four cans of spray paint on the gate. Thought my trigger fingers and thumbs would fall off. It could use another coat, but I don't think it's gonna get it. After that I got the worst walls in the garage cut in for another paint job. By 1PM the paint in the roller pan was so thick, and the temps so high in the garage, I gave up. Lunch and a nap finished the day.

Today I'll roll the walls in the garage, then maybe try to patch the stucco up at the cul-de-sac that the woodpeckers have damaged. It'll take more painting after that dries.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a good start...

Might check the board very carefully to find an FCC ID number on it. Sometimes you can reverse search based on that to find a replacement.

Good luck!

68°F and no rain

Not a particularly productive day yesterday. Heavy on energy conservation. Did watch football and I did get pulley back on BX. Thanks Bill, will have to pickup some Loctite.

Should get more mowing in this morning

Happy Hour at neighbor’s this afternoon.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

44°F and spotty fog this morning, going up to 75° today.

PJ, Spectracide.... yeah....what's up with that stuff? Bad experience with it. I use Raid, with the 20 foot shot. Never been disappointed.
The Spectracide can was sitting on the workbench in the garage, so it was the first thing I grabbed. Not sure I've ever used it before, but I surely won't waste any money on it again. I went digging around in a cabinet later and found a new can of Raid. May give that a chance this evening, since I didn't get back out there to puff the D-E last night.

Good afternoon, gents.

72F and sunny @ 13:00, calling for a high of 76F for the day. 0% chance of rain.

Yesterday did not at all go according to plan.

But it was all good ... (y)

After being very sick for like 9 days, I finally persuaded The Woman to let me take Her to the Urgent Care.

It started out in Her chest, then moved up to Her sinuses ... She sounded like She belonged in a TB ward.

Got to where She couldn't really hear. Was turning the tv volume up all the way to 100 and I had to literally yell at Her for Her to hear anything I was saying.

She had done 2 COVID test, both came up negative ... but She wasn't sure that She had done them correctly.

The nurse practitioner that saw Her gave Her a load of crap for waiting so long to come in (and rightly so) ... and confirmed both Her ears were infected, the right one really badly.

Was in and out in around 30 minutes.

The NP gave Her 2 prescriptions for antibiotics, one oral and the other one drops for Her right ear.

Got those filled at the drug store yesterday afternoon and picked up dinner on the way home.

She got started on the oral antibiotic after we got home and I put the drops in Her right ear.

This morning She didn't seem to be coughing as much and I just dosed Her with the ear drops again.

Hopefully She will have some rapid improvement over the next day or two.

I did get the live trap checked yesterday ... it hadn't been tripped but I didn't check to see if the bait was still in it.

Also got the screened compost spread out and tamped down by running the Cub over it in one area next to the driveway.

Need to get that seeded, watered, and mulched today.

Also probably work on the other area under the maple trees.

Beyond that back to rest of the stuff on the list that I didn't get done previously.

Hope everyone is having a decent Monday ... (y)
