Roy,thanks for posting the specifics of your project. Sometimes I wish I had kept my old 275 gallon oil tank for the Duo-Therm oil furnance taken out of my basement back in 1993. But when I had it removed, buying a diesel tractor wasn't even a thought at the time. For me, who only puts 100 hours a year on a tractor, 60 gallons of diesel in 5 gallon cans is easily done. Congratulations on your ambition for this project.

3F & sunny. Upper 20's today.

Not sure what the day will bring. I should take the 1-ton out for a spin.

Thomas enjoy the weekend.

"for spin" sound like good idea you have there just might give it try...camera,hot coffee, smooth cigar,xm radio country station, long dirt road ride out in the country. :)

No snow duties for the last 6 day sure does free up lot of time.
Hope March doesn't come in like loin.

I thought I could use my 52 gal. fuel tank on the 1-ton as my diesel supply if needed but there is some sort of anti-slosh baffle or siphon blocking thing down in the filler tube.

If you build a stand a touch higher than the fuel cap to set a 5 gal. jug on, you can siphon from that. Those shake or pump handle siphon gizmos work easy enough. Still have to put the jug up on the stand but no pouring in awkward positions. The lower portion of the stand could have shelves to hold three or four 5 gal jugs.

Take my baby on dirt roads?? It is about the time of year when I feel like getting out somewhere for a change of scenery.

We've had a good break from snow too. With luck I won't have to touch the roof again this winter. It's almost bare.

I doubt I put 100 hours on the tractor per year...and if I'd kept my 4400 open station (basically the same as your 4210 except for the engine and transmission), I wouldn't even be thinking of a fuel station. But the snow here, plus the cold (below 0) temperatures are getting tough to bear, hence the change to a cab tractor. Don't get me wrong, it's nice to have more power (the 4520 has 11 more PTO HP), but I didn't really need more power.

First cup of coffee has been poured. 61° with overcast skies this morning. Heading to 71° with partly cloudy skies and chance of rain late in the day. Need to collect things around campsite before a big rain comes tomorrow.
Good Morning All.

My F250 has some kind of baffle like that, too, Dave. I've been using a Harbor Freight transfer pump for the last four years, and made up an adapter to add a 3' section of 1/2" hose to the very end of the suction line. It usually takes a few pokes to get it past what ever it tries to catch on, but it always eventually makes it and the smaller line doesn't seem to slow the pump down any at all. I also replaced the electrical lead with a longer chunk of 14ga lamp cord and added a Velcro strap to keep it neat in storage. The pump didn't cost that much, and I'm pleased it's lasted this long, especially in light of the poor reputation of some of the HF stuff.

43F headed to a high of 63F later this afternoon, with light wind and overcast skies. Beautiful thunderheads overhead with flashes of lightning made for a dramatic sunset yesterday evening. Later on one cell dropped about 0.12" of rain on us. This is more like Spring weather than anything I've seen in February before.

RNG, hope you are feeling better.
maybe a RAM upgrade?...

Thanks, Drew. RAM seems to be fine at this point; it's an experience I don't think I'll ever forget!

The paralysis has deepened so it's more difficult to eat and speak, but since I just talk to myself nobody's complaining too much. The eye lid isn't moving and the biggest issue is keeping my right eye moist. Eye drops weren't working but the doctor recommended ointment is doing better. I enjoyed a nice steak and a Guinness or two last night, so it's not slowing me down too much  Very glad it's still confined to the right side, but I wish it was easier to get the tape off my eye in the morning (doctor wants it taped shut for sleeping so it doesn't pop open and dry out). They must wake up in the middle of the night with ideas on how to torment their patients!
