sure slows me down though!
that's because you're smart. Just managing your grip on life...
time to wrap a few small presents. My neighbor the fireman who gets my mail every day and puts it inside for me, when I'm off on road trips, plus he drives the property with his ATV
making rounds. So Santa for sure had something for him in the way of thanks. A large combo gun cleaning kit in a Cordura bag, should have enough gizmos there's something in there he doesn't already have. This would be a second or third set I'm sure. He's fastidious with his equipment, so unlike our mutual other neighbor aka The Drunken Farmer who wrecks everything
he touches. And if my fireman engineer neighbor has to re-gift it because some friend gave him the 685 piece set last year, well ok.
Christmas Eve I go food shopping for the farmer and drop off a couple of bags of groceries, more expensive stuff he wouldn't normally buy, since sadly so much of his money has gone to booze and his cats. I also got a big bag of cat food from Tractor Supply on sale for his remaining twenty cats, after the 34 got taken away last week. Plus a cat toy.
Never been through the door threshold of his trailer, it's so gross and smells so bad in there I have to crack the door and put the groceries on the floor after I know I've roused him.
This is honestly hard for me to do because I guess I get skeeved pretty easily.
When he is lucid, my neighbor quietly admits to totally losing it. And basically being lost. Losing his wife set him off the edge, which he had gone over many times before,
and on holidays he goes on a serious tear.
Since he knows I don't judge him or berate him, I just try to help, I get an earful when we are together. Even worse I'm a quiet guy and he is almost deaf, can't afford
hearing aids, so he yells all the time. I'm constantly telling him to lower his voice. And he does. For a little while. But then I'm itching to go before I start itching. For real...genuine bugland around that trailer.
Sun is up so time go outside. Just needed a little warmth to show up.
