Good morning!!!!

Lots going on, seems everyone is busy. Haven't seen anything from Jay for awhile, praying all is well.

Tire replacement went well Saturday morning, we got up early, wife followed my in her car so she could leave once I was situated. I got there about 7am (they open at 8). There were only a couple of cars in lot, when the employees started arriving, I asked if I was parked in the right place to get trailer tires. One of them had me move much closer to bay (I was out enough not to block bay) so their air hoses would reach.

Before the lobby door opened, one of the guys in back came and got me, wanted to understand my jacking instructions (mfg told me only to jack on frame, not on axles or springs). He brought out their RV air jack (25 ton) that was not able to go high enough to reach the frame. He tried several different things and then I got my 6x6 blocks out that I carry in truck. In my clean clothes, crawled under and positioned blocks and jack directly under frame and we got it jacked up. We did one side at a time. They did a good job, new high pressure valve stems, balancing (only inside due to wheel), just snugged up with air wrench, let the jack down a bit and then used hand torque wrench in correct pattern..

I was pleased, deal was written up as discussed, went as expected. I will get a new 5th tire for spare once I find the wheel I want. Then we will have two spares for longer trips especially.

It was too smokey to do much outside, so relaxed inside on Saturday. Sunday was even worse with the smoke, my wife, daughter and grand daughter decided to go to amusement park to see if smoke was less. They were able to enjoy for awhile until my wife's mask got wet and the smoke worsened. They came home earlier than expected, stopping by Costco and getting a pizza on the way.

While they were gone, I put on my respirator mask (elipse with replaceable filters) that fits very nice and unloaded the truck (bed full, kayaks on rack) into the shop so I could run to Costco and get some metal racks that $20 off until yesterday. I parked, put my mask on and went in quickly, asked for help loading racks on cart, checked out and got help loading and got home. I had enough and stayed inside.

Air quality was unhealthy yesterday and went to hazardous (just over 300) last night and well into hazardous this morning at 384. We were supposed to get some wind last night that might clear the smoke out, but there was a chance it would get worse by bringing in some Canadian smoke..

... and this morning my work computer (laptop with dock and external monitor) stopped talking to monitor so I am running on laptop keyboard and display for work. Not very effective.

My wife is headed to Costco as soon as they open to see if they have any air purifiers left (doubtful, but need to check before placing online order).

Was 46F this morning, not sure what it will get to with the smoke blocking the sun out (it is light out, but sun is blocked so it is like over cast day).

Buckeye sorry I missed you being in town and maybe next time

Toppop for some reason I think you need cheering up so here you go :cool2:

Great perception, but it’s improving. Your picture was worth a big laugh! One is an old goat and the other is wearing a costume!

Nice day of showers and clouds. Just taking it easy watching the boy.

Randy, no, nothing to play with in the shop. They took the transmission that was leaning against the neighbors front porch. The corn flew over 70 yards and hit my house hard enough to break the ear in three pieces and bounce back about 15 ft. Very glad I was not in that car.

Kyle, thanks for the tip about the back splash. I saved the metal "box" that my indoor unit was in when we put in the new heat pump. Hope to make a nice shield that hooks to the chip pan.

LS, Happy Anniversary, Hope you have many more.

Have a good afternoon. Ed

Thanks, just some stuff related to my late wife that keeps it in front of me, nearly all done now. We are coming your way down 81 on October 21 on our way to a Tennessee tour. Ellen has never been there, so we are going to hit the tourist traps the ladies seem to love, Pigeon Forge, do some moonshine tasting, go over to Lynchburg and do some whiskey tasting, then on to Memphis, back up to Nashville, then Home again.

My point is if you’ll be home on the 21, or 27-28, we might be able to pay you a visit before we are on our way, if you’re agreeable of course.

Just stopped at southern kitchen in New Market VA for supper. An old place. Has an old lunch counter, but we are in the newer section, looks like from the 60s. 0820181639.jpeg
