Lots going on, seems everyone is busy. Haven't seen anything from Jay for awhile, praying all is well.
Tire replacement went well Saturday morning, we got up early, wife followed my in her car so she could leave once I was situated. I got there about 7am (they open at 8). There were only a couple of cars in lot, when the employees started arriving, I asked if I was parked in the right place to get trailer tires. One of them had me move much closer to bay (I was out enough not to block bay) so their air hoses would reach.
Before the lobby door opened, one of the guys in back came and got me, wanted to understand my jacking instructions (mfg told me only to jack on frame, not on axles or springs). He brought out their RV air jack (25 ton) that was not able to go high enough to reach the frame. He tried several different things and then I got my 6x6 blocks out that I carry in truck. In my clean clothes, crawled under and positioned blocks and jack directly under frame and we got it jacked up. We did one side at a time. They did a good job, new high pressure valve stems, balancing (only inside due to wheel), just snugged up with air wrench, let the jack down a bit and then used hand torque wrench in correct pattern..
I was pleased, deal was written up as discussed, went as expected. I will get a new 5th tire for spare once I find the wheel I want. Then we will have two spares for longer trips especially.
It was too smokey to do much outside, so relaxed inside on Saturday. Sunday was even worse with the smoke, my wife, daughter and grand daughter decided to go to amusement park to see if smoke was less. They were able to enjoy for awhile until my wife's mask got wet and the smoke worsened. They came home earlier than expected, stopping by Costco and getting a pizza on the way.
While they were gone, I put on my respirator mask (elipse with replaceable filters) that fits very nice and unloaded the truck (bed full, kayaks on rack) into the shop so I could run to Costco and get some metal racks that $20 off until yesterday. I parked, put my mask on and went in quickly, asked for help loading racks on cart, checked out and got help loading and got home. I had enough and stayed inside.
Air quality was unhealthy yesterday and went to hazardous (just over 300) last night and well into hazardous this morning at 384. We were supposed to get some wind last night that might clear the smoke out, but there was a chance it would get worse by bringing in some Canadian smoke..
... and this morning my work computer (laptop with dock and external monitor) stopped talking to monitor so I am running on laptop keyboard and display for work. Not very effective.
My wife is headed to Costco as soon as they open to see if they have any air purifiers left (doubtful, but need to check before placing online order).
Was 46F this morning, not sure what it will get to with the smoke blocking the sun out (it is light out, but sun is blocked so it is like over cast day).
