52 degrees up to 72 today, overcast, small chance of showers. Looks like a nice Spring day.
And the forecast is actually a little drier now looking forward.
need to go find some more trees to plant today; will try the little nursery down the road a few miles.
Eric, plant the potatoes. I wasn't going to have a garden this year but a bag of old sprouted potatoes was just too compelling to throw out. And what could be more fun harvesting. You just never know what's going to come up. Three little ones? A big one and two littles? I think the red potatoes are the best, like harvesting Easter eggs.
And a Weaver potato will be extra special.
I have mentioned my odd neighbor who I still have to go talk to about an acre of land. Well...what washes up on my driveway from the initial flood of the street drains but a small empty bottle of R&R, which I find out is cheap Canadian whiskey called Rich and Rare. Anything but...
The street drain must have flooded and backed up so badly in the night the common garbage of the street floated up my ditches, coming right down the lane at me. A beer can too. But all cleaned up and the one turtle that floated into the ditch was rescued with a pitchfork. The four little ones who always seem to take point in their travels unfortunately are light and float. They had all floated away and were piled up neatly on the other bank. They must be good swimmers...
if they had forecast this much rain (2.6 inches) I would have moved them to higher ground.
Those turtles are now consistently slowing folks down as they look over to see where they have gone to now.
Needless to say, I'm having a bit of fun with this.
