Thought I'd never have to listen to that kind of thing again, but OH NO, here it is invading the GM thread!

Enough already! Please?:eek::confused2:

That's what i thought last week when the drunk wino crowd was on here....

72°F and no rain.

Cottage tenants had a good day - finally closed on 11 acre property to build their new home. Now their real fun begins.

Prayers for all.

Be safe
Have a great day

the Audi dealer, with lots of supporting paperwork, offered me half of my low number on the Jaguar.
Sigh.
Oh well, now the internet.
Hi, I want to buy your car and I live in Upper Pakistan, and my bank will send a draft to you...yadda yadda yadda

at least my test ride in a Q5 was good, and the dealership reasonably honest. The deck is stacked against you...and they
all cry poor-mouth, no margin, yadda yadda yadda

Brand new building, opened two weeks ago, seriously nice. With a big Tesla style EV charger along the parking lot.
Looks like Audi is bringing in electric cars too, since their dealerships now must be equipped with them.
I'll stick with the 4 cylinder this time, not the six, and even then the mpg is no better than the Outback six. But the seats were way more
comfortable, and it simply fit me. Q7 was bigger, similar, fancier, and too expensive. Got the same mpg as the Q5 though with the same engine, at least in the ratings.
They of course want me to settle for something they can get quickly with of course between one and two thousand dollars worth of useless options to me.
I told them I'd rather wait the 90 days. That never sits well in Sales...;) but they said they were happy to order a slightly de-contented car for me.

$110 for USB cables. I am just not that stupid. Floormats, ok. Rear cargo cover for 200 that everyone buys, really? everyone? hmmmm
ok, particularly if I lease this car and they have to take it back I understand they have certain items they know move the merch. So I have to play along a bit if
I lease the car so they don't hammer me on residual. 3.2% cost of money on the lease. Not too bad, not too good. Sales mgr said interest rates just were raised on loans, which
I knew from the Prime. But when the Prime goes up half a point, they/finance company use that as justification to go up a full point. Again, deck is stacked against you.
I have a finance background so I find the games played both amusing and annoying.

The only reason I would consider leasing is knowing I want a new one in 2-3 years when Level 2 autonomy is ready. Audi is working on Level 3 now in Germany.
We are going to be surrounded by computers and robots. Maybe we already are...

off to mow some lawn before food bank folks come.

Jags never did have a really good resale...until they get really old (price a 1962 Mark II sedan now). I've never seen anyone get much for a used XJ6 unless they were trading for a new Jag.
Audis...about the same as the Jag. Big bucks getting in, but not so big when selling. Audis aren't so hot on reliability either...

Hahaha ... my Wife got one of those about a week ago from a listing on Craigslist she posted for her son's car. Guy told her he was willing to pay the asking price, but as he was currently out of town, he would need to "send cashier's check for full amount and arrange for shipment." He even misspelled a bunch of words and omitted definite articles.

She let me reply back, so I told him, "Everything about your email just reeks of a classic Craigslist scam. Either you show up in the next couple of days with cash in hand, or you move on to a more naive victim." We never heard from him again.

Good luck with yours, Drew.

Audis are pretty much just a "trim level" and different only in some branding and options from other VAG cars. Under the hood the parts are going to all be stamped with a VW-Audi-Seat-Skoda logo and swappable across cars with the same chasis.

I wouldn't spend $200 on a cargo area cover. Our station wagons have them, and they get used maybe twice a year-- either hoping to keep groceries a bit cooler or hoping to hide valuables-- which a pulled cover probably instead just shouts to thieves "i'm hiding something here".

Today at 00:10 CET my wife gave birth to our daughter Gloria. A bit different than previous births-- the last two we waited for the water to break to get in the car and head to the city. This time her water didn't break, or more, it did break coincidentally with the baby coming out. The upside is we didn't have to get in the car at all, downside is that my wife finds the car is actually better for delivering babies than the living room-- somehow, more firm places to grab on to in the car is a plus when in labor.

A couple of days ago my in-laws came out, and my father in law and I pruned some fruit trees and took down some unproductive ones to make more space and light in our garden. Huge pile of branches that needs to be chipped now.

I think there is a subforum specifically for such photos, but today we just took snapshots, and I think my wife wouldn't want those imperfect photos posted. :) Tomorrow we'll get a good photo of her.

Randy- Great job with the pork chops. They are easy to cook; but really difficult to cook well. I only cook boneless loin pork chops that I/are cut from the loin roast and then brine before I stuff them. It reads like you and Ellen's comfort level is increasing. Congratulations and good luck with developments.”

These chops were boneless and 1” thick, rubbed in EVOO and sea salt, course black pepper, onion powder and paprika. 18 minutes at 400° got them to 155 degrees inside, they would cut with a fork.

And yes we are becoming quite close, thanks for the well wishes.

Congrats on the fur buddy!
