We have a Rat Dog. You would be amazed how much she can eat at one time. Does not get fat either.

Good Morning!!!! 44 F @ 5:00AM. Sunny to partly cloudy. High 59F. Winds N at 5 to 10 mph.

Amazing that Audi would let a cruise control like that loose on the world, Drew. How could they not know about the problem; didn't their testing reveal anything to the designers and engineers? Or was there enough pressure from the marketing/sales side of the house to put it out anyway? :confused2:

That's a lot of peddling, Mostly. Congratulations!

Haven't seen a lizard since I got back, Don. I'm thinkin' they're fine, and just hiding from the cool temperatures in the walls of the house.

Van wise, the headlights and the ignition cutout problem were both wins, so the clutch problem was outnumbered. Two steps forward, one step back I guess.:confused2:

It took all day, but yesterday I managed to sorta get the electric gate opener working again. In the process it got dropped, and the terminals where the radio receiver hooks up were damaged. Called up Mighty Mule, and after fifteen minutes on hold the call was dropped before I got any help. Horrible cell phone reception here, but with the wires for the land line all burned down, it's all I've got. Called back, and after another twenty minute wait, got through to a guy that recommended a different receiver that uses other terminals on the board for those connections. Ended up having to repeat most of what I was saying because the call quality was so poor. But a new receiver is on order, and I was able to hook up a push button to activate the gate and hide it under a rock. Not the most secure installation, but better than fiddling with a key every time, and Amazon's fast shipping and easy return policy helps take some of the sting out of waiting.

Off to town for the annual turn-your-head-and-cough session this morning, and a little grocery shopping as well. Stewed the leftovers from a Costco roast chicken yesterday and need more egg noodles, and a few other things that got thrown out the day I evacuated.

Happy hump day, folks!

Amazing that Audi would let a cruise control like that loose on the world, Drew.

Speaking of cruise control problems reminds me of the first car my parents had with cruise control; a Buick that was 3 or 4 years old when Dad bought it. He'd never driven a car with cruise control, but knew that I had. So when I visited, he asked me to check his cruise control and show him what he might be doing wrong. I found that the instant you tried to set the cruise control, that Buick would accelerate under full throttle and wouldn't quit until you stepped on the brake. You know it can be a bit frightening to have your car suddenly take off wide open. He took it back to the dealer and got it fixed, but I never learned what caused the problem or what the fix was.

Got to 24 early, up to 31, another day in the 40s, the 1” of snow is still hanging around, I guess it will melt the next day or two. I’m still holding out for a mild mid winter, but the window for it keeps getting narrower each time the data changes.
Pushed some holly trimmings into the woods yesterday, then I dressed the end of the driveway that everyone who can’t read the road sign, turns around in. Man that wind was cold! I need a cab and heat, I gotta get me a Cadillac tractor like Drew got!
I need to finish some things today so we can head to Front Royal tomorrow for one grandson’s Christmas program at 7 pm, then get home around midnight so we can get up and be at another grandson’s program here at 8:30 am on Friday.
Have a good day guys and God bless.

42°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 52° today. Heard one guy suggest last night we may get as high as 57°. Either way, pretty nice for the middle of December.

I use the dickens out of my cruise control. Always have. I get in the middle lane, set it at the speed limit, and just go. I had an '86 Ford Bronco II that had a cruise control mishap one winter in the mid-'90s. I was driving along on I-270 in St. Louis County on my way to work. When I got to my exit, my cruise control wouldn't shut off. I had to power brake my way off the interstate and through the busy Westport area before getting to the parking lot at work where I shut off the motor, still running at a high RPM. Went into work and figured I'd look at it at lunch. Came out later and it ran fine. My best guess was that something mechanical froze up from the moisture that morning, then thawed from the engine heat as it sat. Weird. Never did that again.

I used to annoy our top ranking people in staff meetings by asking, "What's wrong with just telling the truth?"

 I'm that guy, too, Bird. It's served me pretty well in the Quality Assurance field, even if it has annoyed a few people along the way. It is amazing, though, how many people seem bothered by the notion of "just telling the truth."

52° this morning and forecast is for 70° this afternoon. It was 32° yesterday morning.

The Weather folks are predicting some "wintery mix" for Friday morning. It's just over a year ago we got our, once per decade, snow on December 8, 2017.

Planning on taking advantage of a warm afternoon to do some pressure washing of sidewalks and patios.

Then I'm back to more tree trimming. With last Friday's 4" of rain, it will be a while before I can get tractor / grapple out to pick up piles of branches.

Another 1"-1 1/2" of rain is forecast for overnight tonight.

Everyone have an excellent day today!

Prayers to all.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!

A 24ºF start to the morning. A couple of snowflakes were floating around. Temperatures will probably hover ~32ºF today. Sunday-Monday is starting to look interesting weather-wise for NE after this weekendç—´ snow to mixed precip to rain and back again event as this system further develops offshore and "backs." It's all a matter of the timing of upper level jet phasing (if it happens) and track.

Buppies- I hope your arm is not complaining.

Drew- I hope the neck pain resolves soon and my + thoughts, wishes, and prayers for your friend his wife, family, and friends. It's hard to watch the decline. I am happy that they have you as a friend.

RonJ- Good luck with the PT and dentist. I hope you feel good enough to go out tonight.

Thomas- I hope you can take maximum advantage of your Winter vacation and not injure yourself in the process.

Randy- I hope that you and Ellen have some quality time with the grandkids.

"... It is amazing, though, how many people seem bothered by the notion of "just telling the truth.? PJS. I too bothered a lot of superiors along my "illustrious career path.";) Which may explain my varied "career history." I would not do anything different if I had a second chance now.

I hope that everyone has a decent day.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

It's warmer this morning 29°. Yesterday was sunny and in the mid 30's but the wind was blowing it made it feel a lot colder. The wind is still blowing this morning with a cold front coming through. They are calling for snow showers with a high around 30°and wind gusts up to 40 mph. It's supposed to move out by late afternoon.

Not sure what the plans are for today.

Hope everyone has a good hump day.
CWB.
