75 and humid and cloudy, after a nice rain late yesterday. Should only get to 81.

BEF, great camping trip...you needed a new fence anyway, right? Any thoughts on what caused the bridge to fail, other than old age? Looks like it wasn't in use, thank goodness.

Eric, I've read that placing thermometers in hotter/urban spots has been used to "substantiate" certain research project desired outcomes...Gaming the system for grant money and publishing.

I tilled and planted 3 food plots yesterday afternoon...one with sorghum and crimson clover, the other two with a soybean/cowpea/sorghum/buckwheat/sunflower mix. Very late getting these planted this year, and glad to have had the rain come in a couple of hours later.

We had an 18 inch long (shell) snapping turtle hike up the hill and get caught in a corner against the house and steps. I put it in a trash can and carried it back down toward the pond where I guess it lives. It was my first time trying to run off a snapper. They don't react well to being poked with a stick. Instead they strike like a rattlesnake...lightning fast using their tail as a spring/anchor and extending their neck...didn't know their neck was so long...and their mouth so big...snapped the stick in half...so I decided to let it find its way without my help. We had a baby snapper come up a month ago, but it was easy to handle.

No bears in the past week.

77 outside this AM. Heading to low 70's. While some relish the lack of heat and humidity, I kind of miss it already. LOL. Sure could use some rain, the pool is down to where I need well water input. I don't like doing that as it taxes the well.

I spent the better part of yesterday between lawn work and sitting in the pool. I thought it would rain here, so I got on the mower to make sure it would. It didn't and well, acres later I was done with the front. The grass is starting to go dormant in spots already.

Today, I need to find some new home for that pile of metal and wood that came use to be the run-in/loafing shed. I did manage to level the area out, clean it up and move some mulch on top of it.

No bears, is good, wngsprd.

BEF, nice setup there with the camper. Hope the back stops hurting.

Hope all are on the mends, have a great day! Be safe.

No bears in the past week.

That was one of the longest covered bridges in the state. They stopped using it in the 70s i think. I remember when it was in use. Lack of maintenance. The county just got a grant to restore it, work was to have started this winter.

Apparently bears have been raiding the dumpsters where we camped. Pine grove furnace, the half way point of the Appalachian trail. Did go in the AT museum.

Pretty sure my leg issue is due to my back pain ive had all night. Staying home today.

Pic of AT museum. Used to be an old mill.

Pic of store where thru hikers do the ice cream challange. Couple hikers were on the porch, not sure they were thru hikers.

I've been wanting to remove the fence. Couple posts were rotted off, wire on fence was holding them up. 0706191634_HDR.jpeg0706191633.jpeg0707191756.jpeg

Drinking first cup of coffee. 55° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 82° with sunny skies. Got old paint cleaned off cellar door and applied a coat of primer. Will put a coat of paint on today after dew dries off. Window guy is coming out to replace 4 windows that lost their thermal seal. No other plans for today. Sassy is still taking up a lot of my time. Especially after the hawk/turkey event. Always walk outside with her.

Buckeye, nice camping picture. Sad about the bridge. Hope your back gets better. Hope there was no damage to RV while knocking down fence.

Wngsprd, we have snapper turtles around here. You want to stay away from them. Even the little ones bite will hurt. Had one in our garden pond last year. Have not seen it this year.

Randy, you need a rest. Spend a few minutes on TBN.

Roy, glad Suzette is better. Hope work goes OK after time off.

Good Morning All.

Good Morning!!!! 61F @ 5:15AM. Sunny to partly cloudy. High 86F. Winds S at 10 to 15 mph.

That's a pretty big snapper, Wng! Glad it didn't get any of your fingers!

Spent yesterday morning shoveling and laying PVC instead of working on the roof, as the trench was in shade and the roof not. Decided I didn't trust the old lines, and got most of 'em out and will fill the ditch enough to bring the new ones closer to the surface in case there's ever a time in the future that they need attention. And like any plumbing project, I'll probably need to make at least one more HD run to get the correct fittings.

Watched some Koite videos yesterday, and they seem to employ the same sort of FEL mounts as used by LS/New Holland. Are they another LS brand?

Hope everyone gets off to a great start this week!

Good morning! 77- mid 90s mostly sunny. Weather station is having a contest to see who can guess the first time this year we will hit 100.

Yesterday was wife’s great aunts birthday-102. She is still living at home and had a intelligent conversation with my wife on the phone.

Randy hope you are enjoying life and your new family.

Bogus temps, snapping turtle invasions, lighting strikes oh my.

RNG it does seem like there should be a better way to make a FEL so it does Not require grease every 5 hours and still wears down.

Good morning all,

Mid 50's this morning and cloudy. The weather guessers are saying chance of rain today. Hope it waits, I have a guy coming today to buy 24 tons of hay. So far the hay has not been rained on. I'd like to get it loaded dry.

There is another guy buying 30 or so tons, I just need to tell him it's ready. These are all 1300 pound bales.

Prayers for all, have a nice day.
