Lake Oroville is up almost 170' in the last three months. We've had almost no rain since mid January, but the level continues to rise.
"Before" (July 2021) and After (this month) photos are in today's WSJ...article says farmers will get the most allocated water since 2019...raised to 35% of contracted supplies from zero.

A little bit Drew, very interesting RNG thanks for sharing

22° now winds NE 5-10 mph, we got about 5” snow last night and this morning ending with some sleet. A few flurries now and later this evening some more sleet and possibly some freezing rain, low around 20° winds W 10-15 mph. I think I’ll just leave everything sit and clean up in the morning. If we do get some freezing rain I’d rather have it on top of some snow base. We shall see how that works out LOL.

PJ, Sorry for the losses in your family prayers sent.

BEF, Hope you get to feeling better soon.

Drew, that looks like a fine spot to relax and enjoy the view 👍.

Enjoy the rest of your day everyone

65 and breezy, going to 83. A predicted record high. I like it cold, but it was nice out feeding the birds this morning without a jacket and gloves.

Sorry so much sadness, PJ. Prayers said.

Kilroy, I'd love to taste that syrup. Nice job. We have a couple of black walnuts, some sugar maples and lots of red maples, but I've never tapped them...didn't think I'd get enough to risk harming them.

LS, glad that wind didn't hit you too badly.

We got about a tenth of an inch of rain yesterday, but dried quickly, so I took the zero turn out for a spin...Mowed a couple of food plots for about an hour...cutting winter-dried stalks of cowpeas and buckwheat so the clover underneath can get more light...it is really starting to green-up.
I am just going to spray some pruning sealer on the holes once the experiment is over in a couple weeks and the trees should be fine.

pick a couple trees at the far end of the property and give it a whirl!

72° and sunny
Still just sitting around coughing, but not as much.
Dads furnace quit working yesterday. Someone came out today to look at it. Dad thinks they need to replace a board, but he doesn’t hear well. So he kept the wood furnace going since it’s going to get colder.
Wife just did Costco and 2 Walmarts run. She got another 5 doz eggs. We finally used the ones I got awhile back.

I tried K&N's many years ago and came to the same conclusions as Project Farm did, you might get a bit more HP but the filtration quality sucks.
When I change a filter one of the steps is cleaning the air intake and air box then I'll take a greasy or oily rag and wipe it down. With the K&N the amount of dust that got past it was terrible. I tried them on two different vehicles a few years apart with the same disappointing results.
Yes, same results for me when I tried them, also 2 different vehicles. Won't touch one again. Spend a little more for a good filter like Wix. You'll be able to buy quite a few of the regular filters for the price of just a K&N + the treatment and cleaner.

No plans this evening other than finish the chicken on the grill and continue a series on Netflix that wife loves. Today was a lovely day with warm sun and no wind.

Phone is still working so may consider that fixed and the computer and laptop as well working fine. The new mini split is cranking out heat when we need it.

Taping the knee cap is working and I have less pain walking up stairs. The knee cap is shifting to one side that rubs and that cause pain when bending the knee as if stepping up on stairs.
Exercising and the strengthening muscles around the knee can help

Got up to 71°F today. We ate dinner on the patio. Seemed strange knowing that half of you guys were out plowing snow.

Watch your step. No falls please.

Chris
Not plowing but pushing. Had to use the mini x with the blade. The blower wouldn't fo it. When pushing, big sheets would move cuz of ice build up.

Jealous of your temps

Good (Friday) morning. Overnight Low of 14C and it's presently 26C, partly cloudy with a very slight breeze.

Not much happened yesterday... quickly into town to settle an unexpected bill. I attempted to do this Wednesday but forgot that it was a Northern Tasmanian 'holiday' for the Launceston Cup horse race, so quite a few businesses were closed. Historically, Tasmania is 'divided' North/South at the 42nd Parallel from colonial times. Eventually, as roads were built and 'joined' the island, the two capitol jurisdictions (Hobart/Launceston) merged with Hobart becoming the capitol... but the 'divide' remains to this day. ;) . And yes, those Southerners get the Hobart Cup horse race off on their day.

I did get the house/driveway & horse arena mowed. I'll finish off the front paddock later on today.

That's about it, take care all.

Reminds me of winter 2008/9.

The 60" blade couldn't keep up. I woke up the 3016, found the bucket under a 3 foot drift, and cleared snow most of the day.

More coming Sat. night; snow most of next week.

Mostly installed, a few tweaks left. As many of you can relate, if you custom install something 15 years ago, a good chance the custom part needs to be further customized. Although the basic dimensions match the old, there are a few differences.

Test cycles run - functional. Even WiFi.

61°F and stormy this morning, got up to 71° today with some severe thunderstorms and tornado watches most of the day on it's way down to the low 50s overnight. 55° right now.

We've had a tough family week-or-so here. In addition to the bad news about Evey last week, I found out around noon on Monday that one of my uncles died Sunday night. He was 86. So, my one cousin lost her mother about a year ago, her husband right before the holidays, and now her father. Funeral is tomorrow.

Then, while we were eating dinner Monday evening, Wife got a call that her nephew - the one who stayed with us awhile back trying to get his life together - died Monday in an accident at work involving a forktruck. He was 29. Funeral is this coming Monday.

Not the most joyous of times in the Smith house.

Hope everyone here is well.

Good evening, gents.
Very sorry to hear PJS. Condolences and Prayers.
thanks Bill. The better of the two air filters comes lightly oiled, just like the K&Ns. K&N for this truck is four times cost of regular "good" filter.
I doubt I'll use up one air filter, much less two in the time I have this rv.
Under part throttle I hear a strange whistling, am curious if that will continue with new filter.

seems like State of Florida is getting serious about Left Lane Louises. When I lived down there, I was told by a number of seniors that they drive in the far left lane
because they can't see very well and they can judge their distance from the center median easier than the far right side. Sigh......sure messes up traffic.
Here's what I've always told my friends about K&N. "At least they keep the gravel out"....
Some pretty eye opening air filter test results here:
Yep.

Work was busy today. I found out my boss's boss, (my boss too), is giving up his director position. I'm pretty sad about it, he's a great guy, but just tired of the stress and politics. I've been so busy, the time just flies by. And more demands on my weekly schedule just keep tacking on. I guess that's what happens when you have about 25 bosses.

RNG, glad the lake is up.

LS4, hope the knee gets better. Prayers for our team.
