The Orthopedic Doctor examined the X-rays of the shoulder and good news is that no joint damage is found. As suspected soft tissue pain around the joint not going away.
Got cortisone injection to reduce inflammation and referral to PT. Back again in a few weeks to check progress and possibly going to get RMI if needed. Also set up a separate appointment for the knee and foot issues

Happy Birthday Drew !

31F with a light, gentle snow shower @ 17:00, heading down to around 25F for the overnight low.

Enjoying a cup of yesterday's send pot of coffee.

Got hopper feeder refilled yesterday. Probably will refill the deer again today since it's supposed to get pretty cold overnight.

Reconfigured the scaffolding for The Woman, raising the platform higher and unlocked the wheels and moved it over so She can get to another section of wall.

Grabbed a couple of mop handles while I down in the basement for washing the ceiling. Don't think either one of them fit the new Fuller mop head She found in the closet. Where the handle is for that is a real mystery.

Ground up more TSP substitute for wall washing in the mortar and pestle.

Got some of that dimensional lumber cut yesterday along with more sanding done.

Still need to cut up another couple of pieces of 2 x 4, the remaining one out in the garage is too twisted. Need to look downstairs and see if I have another one down there as I ain't going over to barn to get one.

Redeemed a free pizza from Domino's for dinner last night, Woman thought the wings I had the other day sounded good so She ordered those. Found out they were a little hotter than what She was expecting so She had some pizza.

Hand-sanded the corner radii with the new sanding mouse, worked out great, using the original 120 grit disc I put on the Makita initially. Really impressed with the 3M abrasives, they seem to just last and last.

Also glued up some splits in 4 x 4's and worked on reclaiming some "Plastic Wood" wood putty that was kind of dried out. Spread some of that out as a test to see if it was still good.

Got 2 x 6 x 12 put up on lumber rack and off the floor (finally !)

Did some vacuuming of the floor out in the garage.

Ran out of fuel in the torpedo heater so I knocked off early (>02:00)

Woman just ran down to the corner and got me 4 or 5 gallons of diesel and grabbed the mail and dropped off the garbage up at the road on the way back in.

Another Menards rebate came in the mail ...

She's headed over to the neighbor's now for a little visit.

Agenda for the rest of the day:

Bring in can of diesel which is sitting out in the driveway and refuel the torpedo heater.

Refill deer feeder and a couple of suet feeders.

Get that shave I've been talking about.

More sanding and gluing on boards.

Place Amazon order for some wooden dowels and edge banding.

Maybe get that haircut.

Hope everyone is having a great Monday ... (y)

35 outside this AM, heading to mid 40's.

Yesterday's weather was interesting, little bit of everything. I especially enjoyed the snow squalls with the ridiculously large flakes. Nothing stuck but it sure was pretty when it was coming down.

More Milk House work today. Two more lights need to be hung. I also need to go find a table saw so I can start ripping wood for the inside trim. Don't need anything spectacular, just simple and stout.

Mike,

Have been doing some research on table saws myself, mainly due to the non-standard miter slot and the goofy throat plate on the cheap Craftsman table saw I have ... although for the $100 I think I paid for it, I have been pretty happy with how it cuts ... after having put a decent Freud combo blade on it ... ;)

Dewalt seems to real popular with contractors for portable 10" "job site" table saws. Think those are around $550 to $700 depending on the model and where you look.

Skil has a couple of table saws that have gotten good reviews.

They make a 8 1/4" worm-gear drive (SPT99T-01, $375 on Amazon, reviewed in the 2nd video) and a non worm-gear drive 10" portable (TS6307-00, $329 on Amazon, reviewed in the next video below) both of which seem to have pretty good reviews:

But the one I've been lusting for is the larger 10" worm-gear drive with an increased rip capacity and the big wheels (SPT99-11):

I see that they are now offering that one for $569 on a "limited time deal" on Amazon ... which I think is around $80 less than the last time I checked a few weeks ago.

Believe there is a SPT99-12 ... which might be a newer model. Not sure what the differences are.

(Edit: The difference is the SPT99-12 apparently comes with a 30-tooth Diablo ripping blade whereas the SPT99-11 includes a 24-tooth SKILSAW carbide-tipped ripping blade)

Anyways, good luck in your researches ... (y)

Awesome. Thanks for the info. I need to make a move in the next week or two. I have a lot of window trims to custom cut. Either that or I get real good with mortar mix. The concrete is just difficult to work with and around. I have plenty of wood left over from various projects so all I need is a decent saw.

Good (Tuesday) morning. Overnight Low of 7.2C and it's presently 22.1C, overcast (no rain though) and calm.

Lovely day yesterday and a productive Church Council meeting in the evening.

I seem to be in a 'vacation mode', just relaxing and taking things as they come. I don't know why this is so but, hey, I'm retired and there's nothing pressing going on. I suppose that these are the days that I'd daydream/skylark about during my 'working' years. :)

That's about it, take care all.

Good evening! a near perfect day for seat time a sunny 69˚F, now after the sun has set its 59˚.

The farm is making an electronic easter bunny, you drop wooden eggs in it and it spits out candy, hmm ought to be interesting. This way the timid and the bullies get the same amount of candy from the Easter egg hunt. I think there were some overly aggressive kids last year.

Happy Birthday Drew!

I have had a Porter Cable, DeWalt, and a Makita portable saws over the years. A couple of years ago, the Makita bit the dust and I bought the Rigid table saw. IMHO, it is the best of the bunch.

Many adjustments are able to be done such as micro adjustment on the fence, the tilt arbor, etc.... Plus, it has a LIFETIME WARRANTY as long as you get it registered within 30 days.
I can attribute that the warranty is real. I have taken in a reciprocating saw and a jig saw under warranty. No questions, no problems.

Weird weather day.... started out calm, sunny, and looking to be a really nice day. Just as I opened the shop, the wind kicked up like a switch was thrown.
Then an hour later, all cloudy, winds stronger, and rain / snow mix .....
Headed back inside. The sun came out for a little bit, then repeated all over again.....
The temp dropped 18° in 15 minutes.

They say tomorrow is supposedly to be the best day of the week.... I think spring is trying to come in like a lion!

Assuming it’s for a shop and you won’t be moving it around, I would strongly suggest a saw like the Delta Unisaw or Powermstic 66. A 30 year old used one will be a much better saw than any of those portables, and possibly cost less. A lot of them are 3 phase, but that a can be remedied with a new motor or phase converter.

It's been a busy weekend and I'm getting tired. Went to a Celebration Of Life Service yesterday, for a 55 yr old friend who died unexpectedly. A story of Faith, Struggles, Pain, and Redemption. Large family of solid believers, so this was tough. I had lunch with him and others, only a month ago. It was good to be there with the family though.

cheers all
Most don't know the day we will go, so it's best to have your things in order.
good morning all
raining lightly out, will continue to do so on and off today, and tomorrow. Nastier weather tomorrow with high winds.

had a very nice dinner over at my brother's last night, with the rest of local family and grandkids. Was a lot of fun.
We had a home made meatball and sausage dinner, with lots of nice appetizers and home made blackberry blueberry pie with vanilla
ice cream. Yum. Celebrating my 73rd birthday today. In addition to a matching potholder and dish cloth set with little bees on them (I think picked out
by the 6 year old girl...) I also got a gift certificate to Tractors Supply. Ahhh. A truly fine gift.

Every birthday is a real treat for me. Almost didn't make it three years ago, so am grateful for every morning.

I intend to do nothing today but chill. Might start setting clothes out for trip starting next Sunday. Two weeks on the road, now how many pairs of underwear
and socks to bring...thankfully friends in Florida have washing machine I can use, but unlike traveling on train, don't have to worry about overpacking. Most rv campgrounds have washers and dryers also but without a car to haul stuff back and forth, not very convenient.

trying to rig up a mount to take pictures from dash of rv without having to hold camera in hands, clearly not good while driving. I got a box of two magnet mounts for camera, put one on, and now can't find the box with the other one. Sigh.... I seem to misplace a lot of stuff. Dash is filling up with 8 inch nav screen, tpms control box, dash cam, and now a way to take pics easily. It's a big dash with lots of nooks to hold things, thankfully. Going to hunt again for the magnet mount, I had to have put the little box somewhere. I thought of the picture taking after I put the first mount on. Really good adhesive, don't want to fool with it.

in order to make magnet mount work, had to put small adhesive metal plate on back of Iphone 12. Unfortunately that screws up the charging so I have to use a cable
now, which is no big deal.

It's a great day to be alive. Grateful for family and friends.
Thankful you had another trip around the sun, hoping for many, many more.

Happy Birthday Drew! I'll be 65 on Thursday!
Looks like 20 inches of wet snow in the forecast starting tonight into Wednesday!
I will be doing storm prep today.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy and weathers the storm ok!
20" wow! Hope you get a new snowmobile for your birthday! Better get it delivered tomorrow!
Agreed, but while I’m pretty well equipped, I don’t have a stamping press.
The work at Drews went pretty well, the frost proof hydrant was a bit recalcitrant, the old time rope packing didn’t want to let the shaft out without a fight, but ultimately surrendered to a pair of vice grips and a wonder bar.

If we had known it was his birthday, we would have brought a cake!
Was wondering if you had a cnc waterjet???
Is school really helping Zoe? We have had 6 dogs over the years never tried school
School is half for the parents, half for the pup.
Sorry for your pains. Prayers for pains to subside.

Quiet at work with our Huge team gone. Actually plenty to do. Stayed busy. Still working on metal 3D printer. Getting closer but not sure how well it should hold vacuum in the chamber, nor how much argon will it take to get O2 levels down low enough to print. They want less than 2000 parts per million O2. I can get it on vacuum initially, but it won't hold once I pump argon into the tank and it comes back to atmospheric pressure. Still learning. Just like golf, there's a nut in front of the |3ut.

Guests are gone just now. quiet here with no babies.
