Good morning!!!!

Good morning, the low temp is 13 and going up to 34°F. Wind N 9 mph. Sunny. The powers that be are still advertising a 'special weather statement'. I can expect about a foot of snow. This is a good thing. Just down the road where 'check' is at they can expect 6" of snow AND freezing rain. NO thanks.

check, do you have a loader on the tractor?

First cup of coffee has been poured. 16° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 45° sunny skies. Made 4 oak shelves for front porch. Mounted them to put items that used to set on top of rolltop desk removed from porch. Neighbors asked for help with replacing fuel pumps on his military generator. Got that done. Returned home to take Sassy for a walk.
Today I will be going to GM Proving Grounds. I have been invited to a session that will see how a person my age reacts to thing that will be on future cars. Should be very interesting. I am the only person that qualified in the 80 year old age group.
Getting down to some food.

PJ, sorry for loss of Evey. Good to see you posting.

Hope those in way of the North Eastern storm stay safe.

Good Morning All.

Look at the angle the pin eyes are at, both ends are angled and not getting the ball ends squared up in the arms.
I guess I am beating out pins again. . . 🫤

29°F and clear skies this morning, and only got up to 43° today. Near 60° by Thursday, but that warmer air is bringing some rain with it.

Been a couple weeks since I've been here. Even had to log in again. I was still behind from my last absence, and now even more so.

Our period of life's downsides finally culminated a week ago Monday when our oldest Border Collie, Evey, left us. She started slipping fast that weekend, and by Sunday evening she could barely walk, even with us lifting her and holding her up with a strap. The cancer was taking it's toll on her. Wife took her to the vet the next day. She later sent me a simple text message saying, "I'm back from the vet's office." The singularity of that statement was not lost. Evey came back home today in her new urn, and sits once again next to her favorite cat, Katniss, who also left us back in December.

Somewhere in all the time since I last babbled here, I managed to fix the barn door. This time, it got beefier braces - about 1/4" thick - and fatter screws to hold it in place. There will surely be a few splintered 6x6s if that ever comes loose again.

I'm sure I've missed a lot. Hope everyone is well.

Good evening, gents.
We lost our Sandy last May. It still sucks. Hang in there.

Kilroy, without seeing what the stock OEM parts look like, I can't judge. But I'm worried if you tug on those pipe nipples much, they may fail. Lower Arms are predominately in tension, but if backing up a blade, they are in compression which gives a different force.
Short version: the nipples are spacers, the arms are on 3/4” pins.

TL;DR: (with edits )

The factory Eagle Arms pivoted vertically on 5/8” pins (that I bushes up with copper pipe to fit the 3/4 ball ends) that are between the mounts.

I have the replacement arms mounted with them, and the pipe nipples are merely acting as shims to keep the balls from sliding along the pins, since it is about a 3” span between the mounts, and the starboard side arm kept wanting to slide inboard, and that made it a square and very unstable. By keeping the ends outboard, it is trapezoidal and *should* keep the implements centered. My biggest concern is with the rear scoop, which kept shifting the frame into the starboard tire and I really don’t want chunks taken out of the tire!

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

Currently a dead-even 30F, going into low 40s, hopefully not as breezy as yesterday . . .

most of anything I need I mentioned in comments the last couple minutes, just getting ready to go to work now. Woodstove is comfy 😁

I hope everyone has a happy healthy safe blessed day!

29 going to 53, still windy. Yesterday's gusts were gale force.

Sorry you no longer have Evey by your side, PJ. Glad you updated us.

Now we need BEF to drop back by.

RS, at first glance at that 1st table saw pic, my jaw dropped...thought you had done a major shop cleaning. 😁

I split all my rounds, moved some pallets, and now need to cut some more. Got in a nice maintenance hike yesterday, despite the wind.

Regular dentist check-up today.

31 outside, heading to lower 50's. Strong winds still in area. Feels like temps in the 20's. So far no issues with power or trees coming down. All buildings still have roofs, so that is good. Wood stove needs to be fired up again.

So sorry for the loss, PJ.

Hope all have a great day. Be safe, especially those in the path of these weather events. As always, get and/or stay healthy.

Good morning to everyone from Central Texas. (50 degrees at 6am, headed to lower 70's) Decent chance for rain tomorrow, tomorrow night with a cold front moving in. Got 2 tons 24-6-12 on hayfield yesterday and 25 tons lime in hay and part of the pastures. Now just need the main ingredient.

The AIM-260 (Joint Advanced Tactical Missile) JATM, a Lockheed Martin development beyond-visual-range air-to-air missile (BVRAAM) project. Claimed Mach 5 speed and 120-mile range to replace or supplement the AIM-120 AMRAAM.

good morning all
looks like our weather here will warm up nicely for next three days, sure has been windy
31 going up to 46 in sun today.
Lot of snow up North, guys have fun with it and be careful.

PJ, good to hear from you, sorry for your loss, hope the near future is brighter.

while several of you are contemplating table saws, I spent time with the Highland woodworker catalog while
"communing" this morning, and those SawStop models really look attractive. But expensive. I know they use them in local schools for safety.
Most of the good table saws are hernia producers to move, better take an equipment mover with you.

need to go food shopping this morning, and then home to start loading clothes and some food into rv. Refrigerator gets turned on Friday, takes a day to get cold.
Installed the hdmi wall plates yesterday, well one of them, that went ok but still needs some fussing. At least it all worked when I fired it up.
Installed the cabling grommets, and that worked fine, though I had to order some furniture repair/coloring sticks to touch up the edges.
I'll finish the job when I'm someplace a lot warmer next week.

not happy to find that rv hot water heater had been left on propane, and was running constantly, which I figured out how to turn off. That wasted some gas, so will need to
fill up rv at one of my stops. Many rv campgrounds sell propane which is a good thing. Normally once plugged in to full power will use electric to heat the water.
I did get in the little 5 pound propane tank, just the right size for my portable barbecue grill. Easy to pick up and store. Seemed like a better idea than buying disposable one pounders.

slow waking up.

check, do you have a loader on the tractor?
Yes I do. But it was not powerful enough to “walk” the tractor out. Going over with some planks today to put under the left rear tire, and try to winch it out with the ATV.

Morning all, 33 going up to 46, cloudy, winds are a little calmer.
Heard many cracks, trees falling and lost power for a few hours yesterday. Warmed up the genny, but power came back by 6:20, which is exactly when PECO said it would be back.

We left the oven on by mistake and when I flipped the breakers for the genny, it started to walk. Oops, genny off and ran to the house to find out what was still on and remembered the oven.

PJS - glad to see you back, sorry about Evey

Well, back to work, be well,

There are a few methods that can be used to make your tractor walk it's self out, however the safety police would be up in arms about them.
As a last resort if jacking n winching don't do the job and you have no one to call for assistance.
Chains and timbers can be used as traction aids very carefully. It is possible to get hurt or damage equipment with this method.

Also if you can get out by going forward, you have considerable pulling strength in you loader bucket. Chain off to something in front of your chain to your bucket with it dumped and as you curl it back it will have considerable pull.

corrected bull to pull

considerable bull. And pull too!

that sounds safer, might get a couple feet movement that way
always tricky working in snow
and easy to get hurt, safety first

I'd have my friend who owns a gas station with a wrecker come over. Little far to Check

Good morning, wind has died down some this morning after a rough couple of days. 32 going to 46 today. Got the stove going this morning after sleeping in a little longer than normal.

Setting up appointment today for PT

Have gotten out of most stuck conditions with the tractor by using the bucket in combination with 4 wheel drive and locked diff. Also used on occasion flex straps that with a jerk can break it loose.

Good morning! Low of 40°, heading towards 58°. Sunny this morning, good chances of some showers this evening and again tomorrow. Then rain / snow this weekend.

PJ, sorry to hear about Evey. Very hard to loose a close companion.

Kinda had it out with the idiot neighbor tearing up the road. Started out he was very argumentative, but we were able to come to a mutually acceptable conclusion..... we'll see how well he understood the road building concept.

The funny part (not really) was that he was blatantly telling us that he was "buzzed" while trying to use the bulldozer...... well that explains why the road looks like it did afterwards......

Just piddling yesterday.... aside from picking up a small grocery list. More piddling today.
