Got things put together on the mobile base, including Locititing the t-bolts to the feet, letting them (and the paint) cure up for another day before I attempt to do anything further:

IMG_2532 copy.jpg

Not much extra length on the t-bolts, probably should have welded the brackets a little lower.

Also the Unisaw set up on some cribbing.

Two steel pieces removed from vinegar bath and scrubbed off.

Came down for dinner, more of that vegetable beef barley soup.

Woman's sweet tooth got the best of her and She headed down to the local custard stand. Bring me back a hot fudge peanut butter shake ... (y)

Heading back up to the shop here in a minute, probably clean off more of those steel plates.

Hope everyone had a great Sunday ... (y)

Good (Monday) arvo. Overnight Low of 4.2C and it's presently 16.1C, overcast, calm with a smattering of rain. There was 0.4mm in the gauge this morning.

Not much planned for today other than catching up on my dhobi. I picked up an AGFEST Special edition of the Tasmanian Country newspaper which has a 'Site Map' = all of the vendors and the Official Guide... I've added a few more 'Sites' to visit whilst there on Thursday.

That's about it, take care all.

End of day… Soph and I took advantage of soaking in the hot tub as it finished filling. Think it was up to about 105 when we got out, but sure felt good on the muscles.

Did get the welding liner free. No kinks or dents found but seemed a lot of debris internally. Decided not worth the effort.

Finished off the crab clutters for lunch.

Life is good.

I had just watched a Mig welding liner replacement video for a Miller a few weeks ago. Seemed straight forward. Hope you guys get yours fixed.

With all the rain (fortunate this past few weeks), the weeds are growing fast! We have our annual volunteer crop of wild rye or oats whatever. Many ranchers are baling it now for the cows. It has become a spring blessing for them to have something green for the cattle. It doesn't make but maybe 1 big round bale per acre average, so I don't mess with it. It will die and wither when the summer grass grows.

The son and I manned the mowers today. He on the LT180 JD rider, and I on the Steiner Beast. We probably mowed maybe close to 5 acres total. We went out for icees/slurpees after we had a shower. I went to put the LX5 shredder behind the JD 4310, but there was a fire ant colony that had decided to make a home in my telescoping PTO plastic tube shields. They started pouring out when I was trying to connect. Never had that happen before. Raid ant and roach spray is the best stuff in a can to kill them fast. I had the son spray them while I continued mowing. Now we need to sharpen the blades on the deere's 42" deck. I usually change the gear box lube on the bush hogs at the start of the season, to get out any moisture and old oil.

After mowing, I'm getting plenty of "eye matter" out of my eyes. I wear full sized safety glasses, but still the dust gets in them. My left eye stays perennially pink/red. Eye doc said to try Panaday eye drops once a day. Said it might take 2 weeks to start noticing effect.

We went to a different church today. Saw at least 3 families from my regular church there....for the same reason we were there. And there were many others that we know from living here for almost 20 years. I still taught Sunday School at our regular church before we went over there. We enjoyed it, but the band was a bit loud for me. My wife and I don't like being in this state of basically attending 3 different churches now.

My bosses daughter got engaged this weekend. Boss and his wife are very happy about this. A lot of prayer went into it.

BEF, proud papa moment seeing your son up there. Enjoy.

David, My favorite hot tub temp for a longer soak is 101F. Any hotter and I feel like a cooked crab.

RNG, since I'm a NBW (natural born worrier), I'm worried if you move to a low priced (if there is such a thing in CA), that your run-ins with gangster neighbors could be a bad situation. There's no shortage of punks attacking old guys in their yard (not that your old). I just hope you find a nice place with good neighbors. A great deal with bad actor neighbors, will be a night mare. A well established, or brand new neighborhoods are the best in my opinion. Well established meaning older folks. A low priced neighborhood usually involves a lot of low life renters. I just saw an article where Alabama has the best overall situation for retirees living there. I wish you well.

Ted, your hard work is making me feel lazy. Looking good on the planters. Hope y'all get some rain.

My 7th grader son is taking a keyboard class, and his competitive nature has him near 75 words per minute typing. This was a last minute added class, because he had to change his schedule due to athletics. I told him this will help him his whole life and that he can now do reports in short order. Now if I can just get him out of his "shy" mode...

I took him to work last Friday. The semester is winding down and seniors are getting ready to graduate and leave. Kind of melancholy for me after making friends and mentoring so many. The Senior Engineering students have to take 2 semesters of capstone project courses. They get assigned or sign up for available projects/subject matter to come up with solutions to situations. There were literally hundreds of all types of science projects competing for guest's attention. Many were for biology or hospital system patient efficiency, others were mechanical design, software, programming, electrical, SAE race teams, space stuff, drones, robots, AI, water management, waste water management, agriculture, you name it. We both got weary of mind, taking in all we could. We only made 2 floors, and there were 5 floors. The teams compete for prizes and cash. Many get hired by the companies sponsoring the projects. It is a STEM overload. This was when my feet/legs/back gave out.

Prayers for our team, our nation, our first responders, our military, our country, Ukraine, and for Putin.

Coffee is done brewing. 37° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 45° with rain in afternoon. Another .25" of rain yesterday. There were nice times during the day. Sassy and I did a couple of walks in the sunshine. Took the Mule for a couple of rides around neighborhood visiting with neighbors. Did a check of garden pond. Water is crystal clear. Still some more cleanup to do. But I will not be doing as much as I did Saturday. Not sure what I will be doing today.
Tree has been getting larger every year in field next to my house.
