good morning, 57 going to 61 wind gust to 17 MPH later on

Planted the flower bed yesterday with Russian Sage and a Poppy variety. Rained a 1/4 of inch overnight. Timely for the new plantings

Also was able to get up to the barn and fish out the welding table for the welding shop downstairs. It was buried among a bunch of stuff so came up with the idea of using the excavator with the boom full extended and lifting it up. Since there is lots of headroom in that bay that worked out well. Walked it around the building and pushed it inside the welding shop. It ended up upside down so will have to come up with a plan to get it in place since it is very heavy

Good morning TBN!!
54 degrees this morning. Cooler then yesterday with hi in the low 70 with a cloudy sky. Supposed to get windy this afternoon.
Spent a few hours in the tanks yesterday. If I did my math right I am cleaning 48,000 sq inches about 3/4 of an inch at a time. Sure is tedious. I noticed my steps have been under 5k a day when washing. I don't have to move much inside the tank :)
That was pretty much it for the day.
Plan today is pretty much the same if it doesn't get windy. I get wet enough in just a slight breeze.

Time for a second cup
Everyone have a great and safe day!!

Good morning, the low is 34 and only going to a high of 37°F. Wind SW 12 gusting to 18 mph. Periods of snow mixed with rain.

The northern sky when I came back from town yesterday looked really black. It didn't amount to anything here though.

I think today will be an energy conservation day.

Have a safe day all

Good Morning! 65˚F heading to only the upper 70s with an east wind and clouds. Better than the 93˚ from yesterday. I found a way to beat the heat, just heat up the spa hotter than than the outside temp and when I get out the air feels cool.

hopefully the truck comes out of the body shop today and we can pick it up.

Been going through mounds of papers from the estate and found an official document filled out by my great great grand mother in 1921 when she was 85 years old. The 37th Texas legislature required aliens to report land ownership. She arrived in the U.S. in Galveston on November 14th 1880, was 5'3" weight was 110 lbs. gray hair, gray eyes, crooked fingers from Rheumatic pains, and was born in Spoonhau Austria. Now I just have 999 more document to go through.

Morning all, 60 going to 66 and rain.
Did a little cleanup of branches yesterday and checked on new trees. All good.
Lower field is a swamp, so will need to stay out of their until it dries a bit.

Wagtail, if you put up enough signs can you create a wall :)
What happens to the signs when the election is over?

Have a great trip Mostly

Be careful flipping that table M7040,

Talked to my Uncle, he seems to be more with it, was having a dealer look at his old packard to sell. So that seems to be helping him keep active and a bit excited to be dealing with car stuff.

Be well,

Good Morning.
61°, probably the high for the day. Grey, but not raining, although that is supposed to change later.

Yesterday’s trip went well, people that I never flew before, but were very nice. Invited us to lunch at their facility where they had a catered BBQ. We had a great lunch and headed back to the airport while they continued their business.

When we got back to the airport, as we were walking up, there was a kid and his mom looking through the fence, and I heard the kid tell his mom “that’s a Cessna Citation”. So I asked him if he had ever been in one. He said no, so I said come with us. His mom got pictures of him sitting in the captains seat, we answered a batch of questions for him, and walked around looking at other parked planes, and discussing them. He was very aviation savvy for a 12 year old.
He made our day, I hope that we made his as well.

Just got back from breakfast with the professor, I’ve got to locate a fiber optic cable for a neighbor, and then pick up some wire and electrical supplies to electrify the new shed. Not a lot else planned, but we will see what pops up.

46°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 61° today.

Got taxes picked up Saturday, finally. Made a run to Menard's Sunday morning to get a new flush valve for the upstairs toilet. Easy fix, but I still dislike having to do it all the dang time. Got some mowing done after that. Only about half of it, but it's a start on the first mow of the year. The rest was still too wet. More rain coming starting Thursday and continuing for the next five days.

Also saw the first snake of the year, a garter. He was busy eating a frog by the well house.

Seems I have two weeks worth of catching up to do here ... again.

Hope everyone is well.

Good afternoon, gents.

good morning all
warmer morning, going up to 67 today with some light rain later
have food shopping this morning, then will work outside.

Mostly, have a fun and safe trip.
David, good luck unbending. Those arms are first to go on lighter weight mowers. Beefing it up makes sense.
question of what bends first, your mower or your three point arms?
I’ll be watching carefully. As long as wheel rides up, should be good.
The good news is that it becomes easier, less stressful with repetitive mows.

The unbending went fairly well with my newly modded 20 ton press. The ends were a bit more challenging.

The last time I looked a 1937 Packard Phaeton fully restored was for sale for $975,000.oo US. Too rich for my blood, but they can get pricey.
I won't tell you what his first Rolls went for then...
Phantom III Sedanca de Ville
Owned by one little old lady.

In order to be classed after restoration, my uncle had to source OEM or have made to OEM spec for every part.
Which included him having the headlights hand wound and sealed by one of the last people who could even do that.
He scraped the bumper putting it into the garage (in which it barely fit) a few years later and got so panicked that he sold it, for money, another rolls (a 1932 convertible he restored) and a Daimler which had also been an official car of the queen, just a younger one (queen that is).

I always wonder how much he spent restoring, buying and selling his cars, but he had fun doing it and he had the means.

Me, I had one old car, got too expensive to fix once the transmission started going, so I sold it.

Tooling around the english countryside in his 32 Bentley convertible coup, was one of the most amazing rides of my life. It was amazing how much the car flexed, kept wondering if the door would pop open. Very involved driving, not like todays point and shoot cars.

It's why I really love it when you guys show or talk about your old cars and planes.

Good Afternoon Don,
I found a way to beat the heat, just heat up the spa hotter than than the outside temp and when I get out the air feels cool.
I think thats a great idea :D

Also, since your great great grandmother is from Austria, you should get back to learning your German ;)

Hope all have a great night

81˚F shadows are getting long as we ease into evening.
Truck came out good after the $5K repair, about twice as much as the estimate. The trailor hitch was bent in the collision and had to be replaced and all the bumper sensors had to be recalibrated.
Scott, I cannot find the town she was born in Spoonhau, after two wars it was probably destroyed.

Good (Wednesday) morning. Overnight Low of 13.4C and it's presently 16.4C, grey and somewhat calm.

So today is getting more 'local' signs erected, starting @ around 1000. Once that's accomplished I can get my groceries and pretty much relax until the pre-polling starts here on the 26th.

So that's about it, take care all.
Wagtail, if you put up enough signs can you create a wall :)
What happens to the signs when the election is over?
Legally, I've got a fortnight to remove them... it's a lot easier to take them down.

Monday came down with noro virus I did not know a human could poop or throw up that much very weak now. Hospital called this afternoon said it’s running rampant there so that’s where I got it. They are still working on her dosages. It seems I’ve lost several days and very tired. Not much in house to nibble on trying to drink sugar free Gatorade.

That’s all for now
