Good (Good Friday) morning. Overnight Low of 13.2C and it's presently dipped down to 11.8C [predicted High of 22C], clear with fog at the moment & calm.

A lovely Church service last evening and I'm off again to Church in about a half hour. The rest of the day will be His after that.

"Public speaking" was a very scary prospect back in Grade 6. Navy 'leadership' courses cured me of that as you needed to be able to 'brief' your subordinates and seniors.

That's about it, take care all.

what I found interesting on those plugs was how easily they came out.
The gentlest of pulls on the ratchet and they spun out. Obviously installed with a torque
wrench to get the right crush seal on spark plug, but I've never had a plug come off so gently.
vs lug nuts which always seem to have been last installed way too tight.
I put the new plugs back on firmly, not tightly.

how many of us have thought while changing an oil filter
not previously done by us:
what part of hand tight did you not understand?

I’d have to say my thoughts were no where near that civil.

Good Evening,
If you think of it, you may want to acquire a pair of safety glasses to keep in your truck.;)
😉😂 Actually I have my own sun combo safety glasses, those aren’t even mine 😂
We also have 3 hard hats in the cab also. 😉
Scott, when they start pumping, how long does it take to fill your truck?
Drew, if im empty and loading 2800 gals it’s probably something less than 10 minutes. When its freezing out and the wind is blowing strong, its not a lot of fun !!😉

Now you know how I felt in Toledo,OH loading slurry oil. Standing on top of the tanker with the wind blowing in off the lake and through all the tanks at the tank farm, created a wind tunnel effect. Meanwhile the ambient temperature was about zero F. It usually took 22 minutes to put on 10,000 gallons. BP wouldn't let us out IF we overloaded (In their eyes) even though we were legal for a lot more in Ontario. We could haul 11,000 gallons in Ontario and still be legal. 12,000 and you would be looking for the back way that went around the scales. I know that way from Toledo, OH to Hamilton, ON. As bold as brass up through Michigan to the Bluewater Bridge and across 402 to 401 to Highbury Ave. in London and down to Hwy 3. (No scales on 3) Take 3 all the way to 6 and go north on 6 to the 403, down the mountain to the QEW and Niagara bound on QEW to the customer. Ran that route many times when I was getting a little thin on hours and through snow storms. I stayed in London when I ran out of hours. (Saved me going all the way back to Markham. Usually about 2-3 hours each way.)

Well I think I’m getting the idea. 😉
We are on Long Island Sound, do not as cold as your wind off of the lake, but still pretty darn cold in the dead of winter 😊

I prefer being on a tee shirt in the summer 😉😂

Pulled cover off, nothing obvious. Jiggled the wires, tried it and it ran. So let it pump out, and will try another load

Busy day at the farm. Brother was there to mow and flew his drone
They have most of trees cleaned up, have bridges across the low ravines.

The water line guys also have water line ran around our pond already. They used skid steer to mow thru multiflora and have a path already. The big dozer is for water line, maybe they will pull it in? They aren’t to clear

That was my winter time job. The Welland Canal was closed so they had to truck the oil to Hamilton. The summer job we weren't allowed to load and unload in T-shirts, although unloading I usually bent the rules, but loading was ALWAYS long sleeved shirts.
2 years after I started hauling hot product the guy that trained me (number 1) got burned in the chest. He was wearing one of those shirts with the holes in them all around not including arms and neck. He was off work for a year. He said the pain was unbearable. 350° Asphalt has a habit of burning you when you get it on you. He got it right smack in the chest. He got complacent.
His getting burned put the kibosh on us wearing T-shirts.

Good Morning from Central Texas.
At 4:30am it is 68.7 degrees with a 67.2 dew point. Possible rain the next few days. Hopefully, we get more than the .1" we have been getting. All around here have/are putting out fertilizer for hay and have gardens going, so we need it badly. The stock tanks are getting very low also.
Busy setting up my workshop, welder, plasma cutter, tables and storage racks (Home Depot special buy). Now waiting on a semi-retired electrician to route 220 across shop, sub panel and plugs for 220/110(40a). Did buy a new vertical compressor from Harbor Freight. My old one (craftsman) was so loud you could not be in the shop while it was running !
Hope all enjoy the day. Happy Good Friday to all.

Morning all!
Currently 28 going to a partly cloudy 66.
Put the teeth back on the bucket yesterday. Was able to go out on the squishy back yard and get the leaf pile from last year mixed up and moved over 10 feet. I do this multiple times all summer and it breaks down a lot faster.
IMG_1202.jpg

Was also able to grab a good size rock and put it back on the stone wall where it came from. Darn frost is always moving things!

Cousin is coming over today and we are going to attempt putting the railings on the porch. Using recycled ones so will see what happens.
Not much else happening.
Nothing new in the shop. Did start on an ambitious project that is maximizing the lathe. Can't wait for the new one! Wish me luck as this piece can explode at any time.
IMG_1211.jpg
Going to take it nice and slow as it is way out of balance and full of cracks! Love the challenge!
That's it for now. If you don't hear from me for a while you know it took my head off. Lol!
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

good morning, 42 going to 76 today nice change with warmer weather

Collected sticks yesterday around the farm area. Did not look like there was much but surprised it turned into several heaping loads taking down to the pile in the meadow

Saw the fox walking leisurely across the yard like it owned the place
Looked a little raggedy but headed over to check on neighbors chickens I believe

good morning all
Phil, wear your heavy duty glasses please...

didn't sleep very well last night, up early reading my book.
Forty degree rise today, 35 to 75. The heat is on.

off to have breakfast with old school board friend.
I made him a surprise small pot of beans for his back porch.
usually I take him tomatoes for our breakfasts but now he can grow something of his own.

Dennis, sorry washer is unhappy. Burning wire smell never good; wouldn't leave the house until next few washes
are fine. I get nervous running the dishwasher while I'm out; came home to a total kitchen flood once.
I think I'd let my washer run, but not the dryer, not while I'm not in the house.

dragging a bit today, overdid it a bit yesterday.
later today will push the trimming mower, hit some tall spots.
all the local landscapers are out doing lawns; the howl in the community has started.
I really hate those old leaf blowers; incredibly noisy and bother me across the street.
something about the resonance that is hard on my bad ear.

/ Good morning!!!! #205,899
Good morning, the low is 40 and going up to 55°F. Wind SSE 8 mph. Rain possible T-storms tonight.

I think before the tractor goes to the shop, I will take the chains off. The right side one is on backwards anyway.
I've got a list for the mechanic and it isn't going to be cheap.
(1) rebuild all 4 loader cylinders
(2) replace rubber hose behind loader frame
(3) adjust valves
(4) change oil and filter
(5)change hydraulic and hst filters
That is on top of the $800.oo to float it up to Powassan and back.

Happy Good Friday, all

I've been thinking about M7040s/Frits' college challenges. All those kids, not all will make it to college but
knowing Frits they will get the best possible opportunities.
at one point my father was putting five kids through college/law school at one time.
He made good money as a Wall Street lawyer but didn't have a nickel to spend, all spent on my mother's medical issues and putting all four kids,
plus our cousin, whose father had deserted their family, through college.
I had some real issues with my Father, but geez did he come through where it counted.

Too bad he couldn't express his love in ways I might have liked better, but I think that was pretty common for that generation.
Every kid wants to feel loved.
That's why what Frits and his wife do is so important, so meaningful.
I bet he has a bottle of Tums on his desk. Like I do...;)

Bill, that's a really good list, might come back with a few zeroes on the bottom line; hope they
do a good job for you. But your equipment has to work, particularly in the weather conditions you get.
