Just let me know what you want in a switch module and
I'll build it. (They are still a little hard to adjust). The model
#51 has small dials, but may fill your needs. It is a little
hard to see at a glance, but may do what you want.

Jag - That's why I said the sensors would have to be very precise to do it that way. There's got to be a fairly easy way to do it, though. But it would probably require something built into the axle assembly, which would cost a hundred bucks per tractor, which would mean the manufacturer would claim it would cost another $1,000 for it, which would mean they'd have to add $2,000 to the base cost, which would mean the consumer would end up paying $3,000 for it. Of course, since we're talking about safety, here, they wouldn't offer it as an option, but would only consider it if the government mandated it. Then there would be an outpouring of wrath because by the time the manufacturers finished fighting with the government about it, the lawyers would've thrown in enough fees to raise the tag to about $5,000 per tractor, which the consumer would now be forced to pay because the government got involved. Let's just forget I ever mentioned it... /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif

You could use relays to make the beeper hot every time you started the tractor, then disable it if you like. If you forget to turn it back on, it will come on the next time you start the tractor. I still don't like disabling safety equipment, but this would be a compromise, maybe? Or a timed switch that would turn it back on at an adjustable interval.

Nope, nope, nope. Megalotractormania will not take me down this road, not even vicariously.

First, I vicariously customized a 4310. Then, I vicariously built an electromagnetic cup. Next, I vicariously shopped for, and modified, a Power-Trac. Now, I'm supposed to vicariously drive some Balkan-Commie construction rig that has no 3ph, can't mow anything, of which no one in the Free World has ever heard, and for which TBN doesn't even have a named forum.

No, nada, nyet. This will be the vicarious road not taken.

Mark, isn't wimp spelled whimp? I'm bad at this, I once got laughed at by my friends when I spelled turd, terd. I just always thought it was with an "e". I was ridiculed for days. Now for the really serious stuff, how will you use a boxscraper assuming you would? Like a Bobcat? Or, will you make a super modified, tilt, rock, down pressuring 3 pt hitch with some left over 1" plate steel? Rat...

I think maybe you need some sleep. Maybe it's been a bad day for you. Maybe I ticked you off earlier with my comment about lawyers. Whatever it is, you've changed.

I know this because, in the past, you've been such a good sport about these vicarious journeys. Now, you're refusing to even check out the ticket prices, much less cliimb aboard. Maybe you don't have anything in the 5,000 lb class that needs lifting. But that's just today - what about tomorrow? Remember, you can never have too much power. You can always throttle back.

Besides, realism has no place in decisions affecting the acquisition of machinery. Realism is only for dealing with things like checkbooks - and only then when machinery isn't involved.

And as for mowing, it'll do just fine on anything under 3" in diameter, as long as the ground is hard enough to support it. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Back to important things: There's two schools of thought when it comes to front mounted boxscrapers. They can basically be summarized as "Push 'em" and "Pull 'em". There's even a box scraper made for skid steers that allows you to mount it either way, in case you go both ways. Myself, I'm a little partial to the "Pull 'em" line of reasoning but, since I haven't used one either way, I'm planning on waiting until I have some experience with the implements I've already got on order before I choose sides. Maybe I'll decide to stay undecided and get the one that'll let you do either. I do know one thing: I'm looking forward to having the down-pressure that the loader allows when using things like a boxscraper.
