Got Ambushed Last Night and Shot!

I cannot believe I scared off an ex-marine by asking a simple question. I'm sure he will be back after the tees are crossed and the i dotted. He was a victim and victims should never be blamed.

For the rest of us lessons can be learned. Does the rest of the story actually start before the shooting? Can something like this be prevented, did they know each other or was it totally random?

I hope he is able to help us all out by telling us what happened, if not why the original post????

Please allow me to answer you questions and make some corrections to your post.

First, there are no ex-Marines. There are only Marines and Former Marines.

Second, I never seen the man before.

Third, For identifacation. The man left on foot, leaving behind his cell phone, and his get away dirt bike that was hidden in my woods.


Fouth, A wise man once told me. That doing a poker game you never count your chips or reveal your hand! When the proper time comes I will inform you of further details.



And Last..No, You did not SCARE me away! Your statement reveals that your ego is of the same magnitute as Bill Clinton.

This wasn't my 1st Rodeo!

Yep, guns kill. About 1000 each year. 80+% are as a result of being in the hands of drug gang members being pointed at other drug gang members.

But automobiles kill about 45-50,000 each year and have been killing that many for over 70 years. Yet, any fool with a couple hundred bucks can get a junker that runs. Automobiles also maim or seriously injure 300,000 a year and have done so for the past 70 years.

Guns also save lives. Check the crime stat's for Florida for the 20 years before they allowed CC and for the 20 years after. Tens of thousands have been saved from murder, rape, beatings, robberies, theft, home invasion, car jackings, etc. You never hear about the little old lady scaring off a drugged out crazy with a studebaker...

Cars and guns are both very dangerous tools. About the same number of cars and guns exist in the USA. One has a mandatory training and a requirement for a brief physical then a written and practical test. Yet, the one that has the most requirements kills far and away more people. I wonder which is scarier?

They were just asking basic questions that everyone was wondering about based on the earlier posts and the lack of details. txdon seems to be a very classy and respectful guy. I think it is easy to read things into posts that are not there, because it's not possible to type posts that are perfectly clear all the time, and we are all not perfect when we quickly read and interpret posts.

I can walk into walmart and buy hatchets, hand axes and sledgehammers with no problem. Just ask people from the middle ages how well axes and hamemrs worked as implements of war!

I remember a video about Japanese office chicks training self defense with a plastic folder. They were ramming it up towards the throat and I am just mentioning it, because everything can be a weapon if used that way.

When I think of it I hurt myself many times with tools and objects that were never meant to be a weapon either

Arguing against the public's right to own defensive arms including guns is really ridiculous.

Do bad people sometimes get guns? Yes? Does anyone honestly believe that just because guns are illegal for law abiding people to have, that the thugs will just turn their guns in? Uh, read the definition of criminal if you think more antigun laws will help.

You know, last I knew, doctors kill more people in this country than guns do. Oh, but doctors are trying to save lives. So are law abiding gun owners: potentially our own.

All more restrictive laws do is hurt the average honest law abiding citizen. Not necessarily the case in this particular situation but surely in many other situations.

The thug's right to be alive ceases when said thug attempts to encroach on your right to be alive and unharmed.

Guns are dangerous but so are pitchforks, power cords, cars, modern medicine, and anything else that can be used as a weapon, which is everything you have around you right now. Everybody afraid of weapons, quick, go outside. No, wait, there are rocks and sticks out there: more weapons. Gadzooks!

I guess what I'm trying to say is why worry so much about trying to ban or restrict guns when there are so many good alternatives available to anyone who really wants to harm you if they can't get guns. Look at jolly old england with their knife ban silliness. Banning guns didn't help, bad people just switched to different weapons.

This country needs more thug control (more jail or execution of the violent ones in public as a deterrant) and less gun control, since that only effects law abiding members of society who are not the problem.
