Wow,what a night! Glad you are still kicking . If you need help running the L5240
to dig a hole for that guy let me know! Sounds like 'Earl' from the Dixie Chicks song-Earl had to die. Don't discount that .22 , That little slug zips along and can do lots of damage, there was a drug type shooting -.357 point plank to the chest and the guy lived and a week later a .22 shot from a block away killed a person. That said if he came back I would suggest the big bore riffle.

I wish you well, and hope your hand heals soon. Next time you have to go out at night take a pistol, shotgun, etc. with you and OOPSS him, that is to say oops my trigger finger slipped.

Sad situation, you got 3 holes in your hand and they can't find the gun so he's free. Glad you are ok...sorta.

How does the DA know they have the right person (you know they have the right person...)? It's dark, he's banging away at you, no gun found, no other witnesses.... I can see where the public defender would go with it.

Maybe get the neighbors out to comb the area for the gun, the neighbors don't want an armed perv around anymore than you do-- 1/2 mile doesn't make a lot of room to hide something if he didn't have much time and he probably isn't smart enough to go several miles away, ditch the gun, and come back to get caught close to the scene. The police don't have the nearly as much resource available as as determined locals are willing to expend.

I sometimes stay on a horse farm nearby (where I board) when the owner isn't there so there is someone around overnight. It is enough with horses occasionally getting sick or escaping or facilities problems the minimum wage hired help can't deal with without adding fence hoppers who won't afford their own horse... especially armed hoppers.

Just so we all understand ...this guy was out from his original sexual assault charge which is when he had the run in with you. Please tell me that he has been held on bail for this shooting. In other words, he is in jail now correct???

Then how do they explain the holes in your hand. Also did you get a good look at him when he shot you. Even if you ID him he still gets out??? Also with all the prior arrests he gets out. Also where are the CSI guys. Gun powder residue on his hands or clothes??? He was within a 1/2 mile from your place so you would think they would keep him for a few days at the least. This is just outrageous.

I am really sorry to hear about you getting attacked like that. I pray you have a quick recovery. Raymond Daniel Lednum of 120 Boundary Ln,Apt/Unit B Easton, MD 21601 is nothing but a P.O.S. COWARD.

I taught Tae Kwon Do, hand to hand combat including Israeli Gun Defense and weapons training(knife,stick) a few years back and a few students were in my classes because of very similar things that happened to them. Athough I never had to use any of the skills I taught every situation is differant and no matter what any one says you shoulda coulda done, the point is you survived and that is the most important thing you did right. I know I shouldn't judge anyone but it is my humble opinion that any one who commits any degree of sexual offense on any child and shoots an unarmed man should die a very slow and painfull death before burning in that fiery pit below. Don't you just love our criminal justice system and how it has been perverted to the point where a dirtball with a long criminal history is considered the victim and the victim is considered the bad guy.

Last year a former scumbag neighbor's 16-year old kid threatened to kill me for telling him to turn his blasted electric guitar down. I could hear this guitar in my closed up house clear as day from over 150' away. Yet the brat's parents were able to get a restraining order against me. I managed to get the R.O. vacated; but I got a lecture from the schmuck judge in spite of providing evidence showing this snot nosed brat was in the wrong. Mind you, this kid's parents encouraged him to call my next door neighbor a B****, A$$hole, etc with Mom at his side. With parents like that, it's no wonder the kid is the way he is.

Here's hoping your hand heals quickly and completely and that you don't lose any function in it.
