Saw the title of the thread and was shocked to see it meant just what it said. Glad you are OK.

My wife and kids probably would not be here had it not been for my 1911 in her hands at the right time. She did not have to use it, but she had it in battery when the two thugs beat feet.

I now carry something wherever I go. Made a believer out of me.

During the fight he shot me in my hand with a 22 cal. pistol. The County Sheriff caught him, 1/2 mile away.. Just don't understand?

if being a sex offender wasn't enough to keep him in the slammer for a good long while, attempted murder should do it! glad you're ok! there is a public dirt road that runs through my property and there are some bad dudes that come through there doing drug deals i'm sure. i've tried time after time to buy the road from the county, but to no avail. if it were my road, the first thing i would do would be to block it off. so i did the next best thing and went and purchased a 45-410 pistol. for insurance purposes ofcourse

Sorry to hear about this DoubleO. I had a better response but it sounded awful political and such, so I'll revert to just saying that I hope your hand heals quickly with no loss of function and with as little pain as possible.

I hope your injuries are not longterm. Gunshot wounds can do a lot of internal damage depending upon the slug.

With a statement like that, they shouldn't have any problem prosecuting him, as it clearly shows intent, not just attempted manslaughter. He had every intention of killing you and should be prosecuted that way.

I've been considering a S&W .357 magnum because I spend a lot of time in the woods and we have bears. But now I'm thinking I need it more for the scum bags that come around my farm once in a while.
Hope you heal OK and some how the guy gets what he really deserves.

Wishing you a complete and speedy recovery. Thanks for sharing this as it dove tails into something I and my neighbors have been looking into for several weeks. A friend sent me a URL for a site: Felon Spy - You Need To Know Who Your Neighbors Are I checked out my local area and I was shocked. I looked at the site and reports on the site are mixed but a Megan's law search shows 4 sex offenders in my immediate area. To add to that my neighbors who do have horses and ride in the forest areas around here had a odd interaction with several men parked along a local state game road last week. The interaction has convinced my neighbor to carry a pistol on furure rides. After 20 years living in the city I was really trying to leave this stuff behind but your experience points out that trouble can find you any where and at anytime. Again I hope you heal quickly and completely and that Raymond Daniel Lednum finds himself shairing a small cell with a large horny inmate who is not perticular.

I checked this site out. I know my area, it shows people in my area that are not there! not even houses at the locations?
Have you check in to this farther?
I know of a sex offender down the road, #$%&^ scum, dosen't show him?
