Got Ambushed Last Night and Shot!

To add to that my neighbors who do have horses and ride in the forest areas around here had a odd interaction with several men parked along a local state game road last week. The interaction has convinced my neighbor to carry a pistol on furure rides. After 20 years living in the city I was really trying to leave this stuff behind but your experience points out that trouble can find you any where and at anytime.

One of my favorite sayings is- "I carry a gun for the reasons I CAN'T think of"
Now my wife finally has her CWP too....sitting on a jury for several weeks where some crackheads beat a legally blind elderly man to death with a brick, in his home, convinced her. I think it was the crime scene photos that did it...
BTW it was retrial on a technicality and the main perp got the death penalty again. Maybe some day they'll actually get to administer it.

I checked this site out. I know my area, it shows people in my area that are not there! not even houses at the locations?
Have you check in to this farther?

Just looked at this site some more it's boggus. Bad joke.

If you look the site up in Snopes it is considered a questionable source, The site will accept information from individuals so you could put your neighbor on there because they play music loud on the deck late at night. The biggest problem I found is that the information is not current. I had 18 people listed in my area but Megan's law site only shows 4 but they are restricted to sex offenders while felon spy is any felony conviction. I have confirmed two of the names and my neighbor tells me two of the other names lived in the area but are no longer around. There are also a number of Hispanic names so there may be stolen id coming into play. I guess if you are in doubt about your area a talk with your local sheriff might be in order.
Second part of my story is that two months ago my neighbors were away on vacation and at 10:30PM I saw a car pull up their drive and the people got out and when around the back of the house. I knew this was not good so I went to jump into my car and check it out. At the last moment I thought I would take something to protect myself so I grabbed an axe. Turns out the intruders were a coupe of college folks who knew the owners were out of town and thought they would help themselves to the hot tub. I could have been invited to a gun fight with an axe in my hand. I'm now known in the neighborhood as the "axe man"

I'm not a supporter of censorship but felonspy.com should be shut down. That site is nothing more than a sick joke.

As for the victim, I have a suggestion - Get publicity. Newspaper, TV, radio, direct mail, posters in the supermarket, local, national, whatever - you need to turn the heat up on that slug and the prosecutor as well. The prosecutor is supposed to get you justice but sometimes they get overloaded and it is tempting to cut the dirtbag [another] break. Which is probably how he got out onto the street and into your barn in the first place.

Heal up that hand and keep posting, I'm sure we all want to know how this turns out. Good luck.
