Got Ambushed Last Night and Shot!

Haven't heard from Double Orange for a couple of days, Could you chime in here so your TBN friends know your OK and on the mend?

That's pretty much the reason I don't go outside without a gun of some form. I really don't care if it's my 1911 .45, the AR15, one of my .22 rimfires, or the .30-30. They're all better than nothing if it becomes necessary to defend yourself against a 2 or 4 legged threat.

Glad to hear you're ok with the exception of the hand.

With all the sick/violent people in the world you never can tell when one will show up. I've been lucky enough to not encounter one yet, but strongly believe in being prepared incase one happens to show up.

I hope everything is ok.

I have a carry permit and carry a Kimber UC SS .45 around the yard or when I go somewhere. Plus every gun in the house is loaded. Like someone said, it's nice to have a gun when you return to the house. I live on a dead end road out in the country.

We let people on 4-wheelers and snowmobiles cross our property and of course that could include rift raft.

When I go out in the woods 4-wheeling I carry my S&W mod. 29-2 .44 mag. Starting Monday I'll be feeding two bear blinds for hunters.

Darryl: How intersting. My wife out of the clear blue last week went to the local gunshop and bought herself a nice Glock and some really nice JHP to keep in it. Her justification was just in case. Said her Colt 44 was too big. She knows how to use it. Now I just hope she ain't planning to shoot me.

I especially carry on my property... no where else do you have as many rights as your own 'castle'...

I'd hate to think I'm safer out on the streets than on my own property...

Double Orange, I wish you a comeplete and speedy recovery. What happened to you is truly shocking and should be a wake up call to all of us. I am so glad to hear that you won the fight, as you were basicly fighting for your life. Even if you did not put him 6 feet under, you must be commended for fighting him off with a gunshot wound to your hand. Hopefuly, they lock him up and throw away the key, or even better, fate catches up with him and rids this planet of an obviously useless human life, sooner rather than later. There is a saying that everything in life comes back to you full circle, sometimes the circle is big, and sometimes it is small, but it always comes back. Lets hope this dirtbags circle is small.
