Finally decided to go ahead with the crushed concrete road. Grader graded the red clay road bed. Took 15 dump truck loads of 16 tons each. Vibratory roller followed. Added ditches on sides with 2 pipes in low spots to divert water. Came out pretty smooth. Waiting for rain to see how it will set up and how well it holds up.

That should be easy to keep touched up over the years.

SO......that's what crushed concrete looks like. Watered & rolled, it should revert back to a solid state - almost. I didn't realize there would be so much fines in the mix.

That's a mighty fine looking job.

That's some pretty course looking material. The stuff I got for ours was no larger than 3/4". It's held up pretty well but tends to washboard some from heavy rain. I can smooth it out using a grader blade or a landscape rake.

Once it was rolled you couldn't see the coarse material.

Update - it has held up very well through the winter. Has not rutted in the tire tracks even though I ran my tractors on it. I am very pleased with the results.
