Goverment buying up old tractor

I did numerous searches and couldn't find anything about the program. I checked for Urban Leagends too and didn't find anything. I'd like to see more proof and where the program is being administrated.

Here in Texas the state will pay $3000 for car or truck 1995 and old to buying a new one, if it has pass inspection and been registrator for the year before.

It may be UP TO $3000 but it's certainly not $3000 for any car. The voucher program is for emission regulated areas only, not the entire state. It's not valid in San Antonio and surrounding areas South.The car must have failed emission tests and the owner must have tried to fix the car and re-test. If the car is deemed not capable of being brought back to emission standards after some dollar figure for repairs, the state will issue a Voucher good towards the purchase of another car. My uncle got a $1000 voucher for an 87 Toyota in the Dallas area.

I was talking to a guy my son works with ,him & his dad do alot of hay baling they have two older tractors ,the goverment will give them $45,000 for each tractor ,they have to knock holes in the blocks so they can't be used and have to buy new tractors.They are buying two new JD.100HP ,4wheel drive,cab &a/c, fel for $125,000 less $90,000 for the old tractors thats $35,000 for two 100hp tractor.

Your tax dollars at work. $90,000 for two tractors they are going to melt!!!
(And how exactly does that help the economy?)

It wouldn't surprise me in the least if the Gummint has or will have some such BS program like that.

I get so disgusted with Gummint's interference in people's lives.

Nothing like going green! Heard the white house turned the heat up from 72 to 77 degrees. My electric bill is horrible and I'm still freezing! Sez the president is from Hi... I always thought he was a Senator from Ill where it is always cold!

You know the old saying about buying that bridge - right?

Ya, Ya, that's the ticket blow up your tractor and come on in and buy a new one and the Government will pay you some free money because they have soo much of it at the moment.

Sounds like a 100 MPG carburetor story to me.
