Things we did back "in the day", they'd put the school on "lock down" now. It was nothing to see a deer rifle in the back window of trucks in the parking lot, or have a pocket knife "show and tell " during recess.

Fights where either in the gym or at the local hangout on the weekend, then you where fishing with the guy day's later.

Society has sure changed and not really for the better on some fronts.

All true and when we had those gym or hangout fights no one pulled a knife or a gun ... I like rural town America, here we throw a stink bomb!!

I cleared a school room with a stink bomb once. Man, talk about funny. The disciplinarian did not find it so humorous though! Seemed like yesterday...over 20 years ago.

When I was in 4th grade, I put some peppers our teacher had growing on her desk (habinaro's) (sp) in a girls sandwich. I got 3 "wackes" with a paddle from the Principle.

Back then they could do that and not go to prison!!:ashamed:

Looking back, I deserved more then 3. Even though she was a "snot", Poor girl had to go home.

I kind of surprised they didn't call the bomb squad and homeland security in on the stink bomb incident. Sounds like that boy is making a good turn around....a good reflection of you and your wife no doubt. I am just glad he had that option. Never know, he might be the President or something one day.

Most of you recall that my "city boy" grandson came to live with us ... he is now 14.

Let me know if I have to Fed-Ex you overnite a flankstrap off a big Bronc/bull I have here too tan his hide. I'll leave the sand burs and small pieces of cactus still on it.
