Grapple?

Best thing I ever bought was a Markham light-duty root grapple.

With a new tractor (Branson 4520R) on the way, I plan to buy another.

Should I stick with NAI (Markham Welding), or are there others that you would recommend?

Looking for recommendations.

I wanted to get a heavier duty unit, since the new loader has about 700# more capacity.

Buy a grapple that matches lift capacity of your new tractor's FEL.

The EA Wicked Grapple would be a good match to your tractor. Looks like the FEL has about 2200 lb lift at pins so, you don't want a 1000 lb. grapple. The EA WG"s are less than 500 lb.

I priced a HD Root Grapple from NAI, it is 30" wide and constructed of 5/8" steel and weighs in at 485#.

The Markham grapple I had before was awesome. I just want something more HD and narrower to make its use on boulders easier.

Do you have a picture or a link? I don't see any thing that narrow.

One thing the NAI info does not show is the opening dimension, nor is there a picture in the open position. I am completely dissatisfied with the grapple I bought because it will not open wide enough. I am leaning towards a 60 inch Wicked from EA for its replacement.

The wicked grapples have very limited openings. The 60" in the attached has only a 30" opening. I am a fan of wide opening grapples. EA makes nice grapples, but not for those wanting to get a big bite.

Faver makes some nice grapples but their website is lacking details. I see their grapples on eBay quite a bit. They have a little 31" wide one that opens to 42" which may be narrow enough for Lunk. I do not know what it weighs.

I was looking at the HD Root Grapple that you posted about, that is why I didn't see it. The link on their Website is "NAI Grapple". I guess that is the narrowest grapple that I have seen.



I have one that is 44 inches wide.

The rake shop will custom make yours any width and with more or less bottom tines. You probably have to call for a weight.

Yep, a real concrete breaker! Sidney Mfg, the Gorilla Grapple.

It is heavy, 946 pounds.

Per NAI via email, the opening width is 34". On my light-duty grapple, the opening width was listed as 30-40".
