Anyone here have the Frontier after market for John Deere Root Grapple and how do you like or dislike it? I've purchased a new tractor 5085 Cab and ordered a grapple with it. But wanted to get some input on the Frontier Grapple and opinions are most appreciated.

Thanks

I'll be honest - I didn't even know Frontier made a grapple. It doesn't show in the 2013 Frontier catalog I've got. I've checked out a lot of Frontier attachments at the local dealer and there is no question - they are truly heavy duty. I just ordered a Land Pride grapple and it should be coming in next week. The Kubota dealer will be installing the third function. It will be on the joy stick and run off power forward. I'm sure your grapple will be plenty heavy duty.

I have the AV20G grapple on my 5115M, but can't really tell you anything about it, as I haven't used....or even seen it yet. I haven't seen the tractor either. It was delivered a few weeks ago, and I'm still overseas and won't get to see it until sometime in June (hopefully) Other than that absolutely useless bit of information, I do have a point to my post. PClausen has your tractor and the grapple, and his posts are very informative with lots of pics.

The entire thread is great, but the info you're looking for is from page 15 on.

I have an AV20H on my loader -- which I use more than my bucket. Mostly, I am clearing brush with it. I did bend a tine on it which I think will be easy to fix when I get around to it. Highly recommend one!

What is the width of the grapple you have and thanks for the post! :)

Mine is 60 inches wide -- with a single cylinder which is centered. The "lid" is less than 60 inches.

I have a loflin 84" monster grapple on JD85E. Really impressive grapple. Opens 52" great for picking up tons of brush. Very heavy duty, weight about 1400lbs.

What is the heaviest load that you have grabbed up, such as a partial tree and is it simple to change out from the bucket to the grapple? I have the third function being installed. Thanks too for responding!

Do you mind me asking what you paid for it? My grapple is only about 62 in wide and cost almost $3,200. I'm wondering if I should have looked around more. I still can as the tractor will not be here for a couple to three weeks. Nice set up!

Picked anything up that is substantial in weight? Like a partial tree? I have a lot of broken up trees to remove and tree trunks.

I paid 3100 for it. I asked on here about grapples and a few guys had this grapple on skid steers and swore by them. One guy had his for ten years and was still working great. If search my old post you can find some more info on them. I think you can get the 60" or 72" ones for
About 2700.00. I went with 84" because the tractor is 78" wide and didn't want to miss anything and catch the tires.

WOW! That is nice! I would be curious to know if that size would fit my FEL. The tractor is a John Deere 5075 E Cab. What a nice setup you have, truly nice and you should be proud of it!

Also who is the name brand, did you order it or purchase local?

Haven't had a chance to move any heavy logs yet, but I did pick up a junk ford focus and set it on a trailer.

I would probably look into a 72 in if I didn't have them bring out the Frontier 20 Grapple.

Here's your baby :)

72

Got one. It's heavy duty, about 700lbs. Also prefer the two independent grapples.
