I have 8 tons coming tomorrow morning, #2 crusher run. Price is $8 / ton, delivery is $75. DOT is doing spot checks locally for weight and tarping of loads, so the drivers can't guarantee a delivery time other than when the troopers are at the Tim Hortons (coffee shop). I am across the Erie canal from a gravel pit, about 7 miles each way. If you pay cash, about 10 % less. Had 6 tons left over from new pole barn (ordered too much), already spread on driveway. Drive is about 150 feet, was in sad shape. Property we bought has had a farm house on for about 150 years, driveway is original, ruts were new (and deep). Drive drops about 30 feet in 150 feet. All of the canal bridges are weight limited except for one, makes it easier for DOT to snag overweight vehicles (over posted weight limit of the bridges).
