I just drop the top hook to the lowest set of pins & it hold fine for my rotary cutter. I leave my hydraulic toplink in float which kind of does the same thing (the restrictor makes it react slow though).

Perfect! I assume that items 8 and 10 (bolt, bushing) are the only additional parts needed for this.

I bought all new bolts and bushings as mine were all rusted and bent. I'm not sure if they were all transferable for each arrangement.

Threepoint, could you please share more details and/or a link to another thread to show exactly how you did those flush pins? I need to do that in order to connect to my box blade top connection.

I went to Tractor Supply and purchased 1/2" x 2" Clevis pins:
CountyLine Adjustable Clevis Pin, 1/2 in. x 2 in., S1757TSC - For Life Out Here

They just are long enough to run a pin through both outer holes of the clevis pins. I still have some clearance issues with my box blade, but much better than before.

I'm surprised one of the small tractor accessory companies hasn't made a proper sized replacement hook (sticks farther back) for the HF quick hitch.

Hey Bruce,

That's a good thought.

I think it would be a natural product add-on for SWAG off-road, given that improvements and add-ons to HF tools already make up a lot of their product line.

The only other remaining questions are what would constitute a "proper size replacement hook" [i.e., how much further back should it extend?] or should there be a number of spacings available, and what pricing would make it popular enough to be cost-effective to produce.

I wound up having my hook extended. Cost was roughly $60 including a piece of solid bar stock, welding, and then machining down the edges to match the existing hook and drilling new holes. Too much $, but turned out very nice and works perfectly. My extension was maybe just slightly more than 1".

I've done that to 2 of mine & one I got for a friend. DIY with much uglier welds & finish, but very functional. Replace the bolts with pins & you can quickly adjust it as needed (need to drop it down for the flex link on my rotary cutter to not pop out).
