Has anyone seen / know of a front mounted finish mower?

Yeah, I wasn't specific enough....
I have a power-trac 1850 with a front mounted mower (8 foot). Been thinking about getting the wife a real tractor and not her lawn tractor (well, like a MF 1715 or a BX(small) so).
Doing this does not resolve the finish mowing issue (she is in charge of the yard, I am in charge of the acerage). Thought maybe someone had come up with a mower that just attaches to the arms or push mounts on the front of a tractor. Honestly really not sure why this is not just a standard implement. Never understood the belly mount mower. Seems like a design that people just can't shake.
Ah, I was thinking of one for your PT. I would look for a Toro Groundsmaster (like: Toro Groundskeeper 345 mower ) or a similar front mount zero turn (Kubota, Deere, Grasshopper and Woods also make them).
A BX is too slow IMO and will beat you up on rough ground.

Lastec makes a nice big one that is a flex/sectional deck (to reduce scalping): Out Front Mowers

If you are talking about the one that mounts on a tractor, it's called "out front" but it looks to me like it mounts in the rear on the 3-point hitch. It says it takes a cat 1 3-point hitch and that looks like a rather standard PTO connection. However the caster wheels in the photo are all turned as if it were to run before the tractor. Are you supposed to drive in reverse???

No, when you click the link they call it "621EF - 126" Cut Articulating Mower"

These are out front mowers, with rear wheel steer:

I thought they made a finish mower for the 1850. Its on their price sheet as a 72" finish mower for $4k. Is it not a real finish mower?

One thing about that large of a finish mower from PT is its a flat deck. It won't follow ground contours real well, and can scalp. I know because I have their 60" finish mower on my 425. Out land is almost table-top flat, so that's not a issue for me except by where our drive meets the road.

Simplicity makes some nice lawn tractors from $2500-$4500 range. How much lawn are we talking about here?

That's too big of a mower deck for you... it about 10'. It requires 36hp from a shaft PTO, which I don't think your hydraulic PTO puts out. I recall someone taking a smaller lastec deck and adapting it to I believe a 400 series PT. I don't think the 400 series had enough oomph to run it.

Not sure if your into searching for older equipment, but Gravely used to have a front mount mower for their 4 wheel tractors. This was back in the 80's? but they were built like a tank.

Its for a machine with a front mount 3 point hitch.
