Hauling tractor on U-haul car carrier trailer

/ Hauling tractor on U-haul car carrier trailer #41
I used to tow my tractor with a 3 door 1994 Mitsubishi Pajero (Montero in the US). Never once had any issues with it at all. Always very stable and straight going down the road.

It comes down to people using the brain a little bit more and have a bit of common sense when loading the trailers up.

I have upgraded to a newer 2010 pickup truck a couple months ago, but haven't towed the tractor or anything heavy to get a comparison versus the old setup.

That's a 3750 lbs tractor plus a 400 lbs mower on a 1300 lbs trailer.

That is a very nice looking compact rig.
I would be a bit concerned about the high CG, when on rain slicked roads, with a short wheelbase tow vehicle, and that mighty fine looking Branson standing tall, on a deck over trailer.
That tractor is just too sweet looking to even think about getting it dirty though!

Understandable, but I couldn't use a car hauler trailer due to the extra width of the wheels stick out of the bed. It would be nice to have a lower CG, but it wouldn't fit the places I need it to sneak it. Yes, roads are very narrow here, specially on older villages.

I did tow on wet roads, but everything just felt good and stable and I do take my turns nice and easy. Never towed when raining hard though.

What overall width are you limited to there? My between the wheels trailer is 84” between the fenders.

Obviously, all of Europe has very narrow roads, particularly in the villages.
I consider that to be old world "ambience",.... and I love it!

The max legal width of a vehicle or trailer is right at 100". A between the wheels trailer will have a outside width of 95" and a bed width of 70" but then again, won't fit many places. My trailer has a width of 75".

I love it too. It's very nice and quiet. None of that city stress and on sense going on. You'll often see a groups of people just chatting, sometimes almost in the middle of the road. No one will make a big deal of that, just move over and carry on with your life.

Most rental places here have heavy duty trailers for skid steers and even their own tractor units. I would think renting from them would be the way to go.

Max width in the USA is 102", so my equipment style trailer has 82" between fenders.
With my L48 TLB, I enjoy having the low deck.

Your L48 is a much heavier and taller machine, so a low deck is indeed much nicer. We couldn't actually tow it legally here, without getting into bigger trucks, CDL, tachographs and that stuff.

The max gross weight a 4x4, pickup truck, car, SUV, etc, can tow is 7700 lbs. Very few are rating that high. Mine is right at 6000 lbs and with the tractor, loader and an attachment, I'm right at the limit.

I put mine on my deck over trailer without issue. I do like the lower height of my other trailer though. IMG_9079.JPGIMG_9434.JPG
