Your son is having the childhood I wish that I would have had!!!!
Good parenting there with your 9 year old! He will never forget that experience.
Can anyone explain how to change your HST filters without changing the fluid?

Mutz, thanks for the response on your trailer. I think I'm going to go with a Diamond C with the newly designed engineered beam goose neck when they come out. I think I want a 26 foot deck over. How wide is yours from the inside wheel wells? I'm thinking of 2-10K axles with 17" super singles.
My M7060 has filled R4 tires with a loader and a 1400 lb hydraulic box blade. I'd also like to carry my 55" EA Wicked Grapple. I bet all that weighs close to 10-11,000 lbs.
I’m convinced this is one of those internet urban legends - be prepared to catch a LOT of oil changing your filters. And unless your TLB, oil pans and shop are sparkling clean I wouldn’t be re-using that spilled hydraulic fluid. I ended up taking an oil bath changing the hydraulic filters when my 5 gallon oil pan started overflowing...
200+ isn't bad for engine coolant system, but you don't want your hydraulic system running there.I dont think a temp of 205 is bad depending if it is normal though. I wonder how high it gets when you think it is going bad.
Most engines today run at 190+. Some of the tractor truck / 18wheeler thermostats dont even open till it is at 215 degrees which IMO is CRAZY. I think that is when crap starts to warp. I think the 5.9 cummins in my dually doesnt open till about 210+. Still makes me uncomfortable, but thats emissions for you.
I know on the other tractor we got rid of sometimes I had to blow out the radiator every 30minutes in the summer cutting thick grass. Gets old in a hurry.
WOW that sounds like a lot of work.
