A tree trimming helicopter and ground crew are making their way along the power transmission lines near me. I had heard of them in the past but yesterday is the first time I’ve seen one. Amazing. Here’s photos and a video I found online showing one in action.

It is pretty wild, isn't? Thanks for sharing. I am always impressed when I see helicopter pilots doing precision work, whether it is moving HVAC units onto roofs, dropping line technicians on high tension wires, putting power poles in place, or trimming lines. They power wash the insulators on a HV line near us regularly.

All the best,

Peter

It was a bit windy for that activity.

The pilot doing our line was trimming the neighbor's tree when all of a sudden, BAM!! Big white/gray puff of smoke, we thought surly he cut our line. Turns out, just tripped the fuse! Was a sight to see and hear!!! ☄️💥🔥🎆

Those things look viscous. Saw something like that in a James Bond movie.

There’s a video out there somewhere, of one of those units cutting through a deer blind.
Wild, how fast they can trim a tree line
