So do I. Going in a strait line, put a little pressure on the shifter and let it slide in smoothly. But I never do it when the wheels are spinning.
Engaging while rolling is fine. Engaging while the rears are spinning, not so much.Sorry, what I meant to ask is does it hurt to ENGAGE the MFWD while rolling?

Was able to use the cutter for a while today. Everything seems to be in order with that. Much better with the tires set wider. I can see the benefit of the fender extensions, which I have yet to install.
One down note: I couldn't get it to come out of MFWD. The lever won't budge. I read the manual when I got home this afternoon and perused tbn. Can't see how I was doing anything wrong. I'm not too worried- will mess with it again tomorrow. Maybe something simple like a fuse, not pushing on clutch completely, or the wheels not being straight. Though it does beg the question, "where does correcting the quirks of a new vehicle end and the possibility of a lemon begin". Hate to think that way as I like so much about the tractor otherwise.
Not sure if its even close to being a 'lemon' yet.. Just because it took awhile to get back doesnt make it so..
Yep. Same for both the 4wd and the diff lock.Difference between rolling and spinning...
Rolling is like normal driving and all 4 tires rotating the same.
Spinning is what happens to the back wheels when you are in 2wd and stuck. IE: rear tires going 90mph, and fronts not going at all. This is a bad time to engage 4wd.
But just drinking down the drive, and getting ready to pull off in the yard, engaging is fine. You don't need to stop.
