Sort of off the subject but along the same lines......
If a diesel engine gets "fuel" into it's airstream while running it is very hard to shut down and it will rev very high.
The only way is to shut off it's source of air.

Now this fuel can be alot of things, a turbo seal leaking oil into the airstream
(I know this engine isn't turbo'd) an over-oiled "reusable air filter" etc.

The point I'm making is that ANY diesel engine can have the same thing happen, a run off, but you hardly ever see it in an owners manual.

Had a diesel VW Rabbit that would pick up oil into the breather tube on the valve cover that ran into the airbox. With enough oil collected up there and at about 65mph it would suck into the intake and the car would accellerate. The ignition would lock the steering wheel when turned off, not a good solution, standing on the brakes slowed it down enough to stop it from continuing. It was an attention getter when it would happen in heavy traffic.

I told you I didn't know anything about them. Never needed to before and so never bothered to find out. I did know that they do not have spark plugs though. Still seems like there should be a fail safe means to shut them off.

Obviously Kioti has not learned their lesson. Else the KL130 owners would have a fix in place. As far as I know, Kioti has done nothing thus far for the KL130 crackers! And it's about time they did.

I believe I remember many of the older 2 stroke Detroit diesels I was around had emergancy shut down flappers in the air intake in case of a runoff.

Now that sounds like a simple, straightforward way to do it. BTW, my 2006 CK25 does not have a manual shut off either, just a plastic plug.

Somebody has a motorcycle the same color as their tractor. How do you like the 450EXC? I'm in the process of getting one for work. You can pm me so I don't hijack this thread. If I don't have a manual cutoff on my CK30 I am going to add one. If I have one I'll post a picture of where it hooks up to the fuel pump sender thingy. If I don't I'll probably ask someone to take a picture and post it for a CK30.

Guys
Please put things in perspective here. This is one tractor that has had a problem that has been posted on here from a company that manufactures in excess of 20,000 units a year. If it needs intervention, you will get a better feel for it once they all wind up on here (if and when).
Sorry 450EXC for bing serious again. :)

Sorry, but I forgot to mention that if any of you feel that it is serious enough to do anything to your Kioti, the old "T" series Iseki tractors had a choke flap on the air intake. I am not sure if you had this model in the US, but if you did, the tractors fitted with this were in the 50 - 90 hp range and were called 5000-6500-5000D-6000-7000 & 9000 models. These models were built in the early to mid eighties.
Hope this helps. :)

Wallace is a top notch person and Dealer. If you had been around this site more than a week you would know that.

You are not the only person that works their Tractor, but seem to be the only one that would not keep their foot on the clutch when working in tight places.

Terry - first off thanks for informing us of a potentially dangerous situation. We are all happy that no one was seriously injured. We also appreciate that you are sharing information as to the cause and possible correction to the problem. I hope you will continue to do so.

I realize you are a newbie to the site. Look around, read a few of the forums. For the most part, people are friendly and love to share advise. There's a lot of brand loyalty and sibling rivalry too. A lot of good hearted ribbing to boot. At times, it can get nasty and the moderators have to step in. Hopefully it won't get to that point here.

Rick Wallace is a great guy & dealer and has helped a lot of people on this forum. He has many friends and supporters.

My two cents is a request that you cool down and please stop typing in CAPS - that's like shouting. We're all friends here - right?

Finally, although it's a rough intro, welcome to TBN :)
