Recently I had a thread about using a hay spear on the bucket of my B7610. Lots of good ideas and thoughts from folks. I tested the lift capability of my bucket by strapping a round bale to my bucket. All was just fine. It lifted it up and though a bit tippy, as expected it was fine. Yes, of course I will use ballast on the back or a bale on my 3PH with a hay fork there.

Anyway, after LOTS of research I got a hay spear attachment for my bucket:

Bucket Forks, Tractor Forks, Loader Forks by Bucket Solutions......Heavy duty machined pieces....Did I mention HEAVY......but it went on well and looks just great with my amateur mechanical engineer eyes. Put it on just fine......Would barely lift the bale off the ground, let alone high enough to stack bales...........The weight of the spear must have been the straw on the camels back..........SO..........

After much research am banking on the fact that perhaps my pressure relief valve needs some adjustment. This is done by removing the valve and inserting shims to boost the pressure...........EASY PEASY........Get a pressure gauge and some shims............:

Hydraulic Pressure Tester with a gauge, shims, and instructions. Called the outfit and the owner is totally knowledgeable and helpful....So have that also...........

NOW......WHERE IS THE PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE???????????........Have looked and looked so does anyone have a description or a pic???........I really do assume it would be the same on most of the "B" series machines........Thoughts, pics, and advice would be appreciated.........God bless.......Dennis

My B26 RV is on the right side (seating in the seat) and almost directly under the seat. For good access, I remove the right rear tire. I have to remove an outside cover to expose the relief valve.

Probably would be a good idea to check the input side of the loader valve. Think I would have somebody do this with a little more skill level if you are having this much trouble finding the relief valve for the loader.

Being a person with knowledge of how all the pieces of equipment look before one goes into repair or work on something, DAVID, maybe you could give the information to this rank amateur as to why I should check the input side of the loader valve......Thanks for the advice as I am working on the pressure relief valve and am trying to get information on that instead of the loader valve......But by all means, do advise PLEASE

why don't you just call the local Kubota dealer an ask?

Have done that Kubota dealer thing with a really informative guy like David above and he pretty much said the same things as David advised above. I guess I should just not believe that a picture says a thousand words and go to taking apart anything that has tubing going in and out and a 22mm bolt head. I thought perhaps someone on here had actually taken pictures of a B series Hydro relief valve and surrounding area so that a person could tell this from that.............. No big deal and guess I should just move along to a forum where information is actually exchanged...................Thanks for the help........God bless.......Dennis

When I had my B2620 I shimmed up the PRV like you are trying to do.It wasn't that difficult but I also had trouble locating the valve. It was a while ago and I don't remember exactly where it was but I was able to locate it by downloading parts diagrams from Messick's website. It is a free service they offer.I think it was in front of,and behind, the right rear tire but I am not positive. Not sure if this helps you any.

What loader is on the tractor?

The pressure relief is usually between the input side of a valve and the first spool, if you have a newer tractor with an integrated loader valve then it gets a little more muddy. If you have a Kubota loader then you can go to the Kubota website and get the illustrated parts list that usually has the valve breakdown in it.

If you look at the valve there are the bores made for the spools and then there is one with no spools but just caps, that is where the relief usually is and it has lots of parts that if taken apart and not reassembled correctly in the proper order it will cause problems.

You should be warned that if you do not know what you are doing with hydraulics that they can really hurt you.

While it is true that anything can be screwed up,I don't think adjusting the PRV is rocket science.Take your time and pay attention to how the parts are assembled. From talking to the people at my dealership I was told 10 percent above the recommended pressure shouldn't cause any problems but I wouldn't go any higher. Some people might disagree. The highest pressure for my L45 is 2845 psi.I got the dealership to set it at 2950 psi which is less than 10 percent but I know the loader is working to it's full potential.I have owned four Kubotas with a FEL and I have made sure each one was set to get the most out of the loader. No point in having equipment that is not performing to it's full potential.Good luck with yours.

The bigger thing is an injection hazard caused by a leak or a loose fitting. If you jack then pressure way up you can start breaking things but the leaks are things to be careful of.

I wish I could do the Gomer, "Surprize Surprize Surprize". I followed everyone's advice from here and the folks at EXPANDED where I bought the "KIT" of a pressure gauge and shims. Their advice and the instructions that they sent for a B3200 with I guess the "thinking" is that all the B's are the same. I and most of you assumed that also. WRONG.........

Turns out that the loader relief valve is up on the loader arm itself on the B7610. There is a relief valve down on the hydro pump itself by the 3PH knob between the operators legs. NOT over by the rear tire and under the seat,,This relief valve is for the 3ph..........Found this out after pulling that heavy tire and looking, scratching my head, and then finally Messick's. Previous to beginning work I had looked at the Messick's parts diagrams and could not find the relief valve on the pump where everyone was talking about........Went ahead and pulled the tire and looked......NOTHING there.....OK......Les at Messick's was totally helpful with helping me figure out by looking at the schematic and the tractor, and by golly, there it is.....up on the loader arm itself. There on the front right hand bottom corner of the valve itself. The valve is that block of metal where all the hoses go in and out with the pressure relief valve there. EASY...........

For future folks looking at this wanting to increase the strength of what the bucket can lift on the B7610, there are 2 different valves and one of them does NOT have a pressure relief valve arm the arm. I assume it is as other folks have advised.........God bless...Dennis

Good to see you got it figured out. What was the original pressure and how much did you increase it?Are you now able to do what you wanted it to do?

OK, another update. Got the kit from BXtended. Hooked up the gauge to the up/down hose, yellow, and fired it up for a test. The original reading was 2200 PSI. Pulled the plug with a 22mm socket. That was the easiest part of the whole thing. It is right there exposed and one just reaches in and out it comes. Over to the bench to check it out. It has a couple of shims with no color and a blue one. Put in the .3mm shim/blue. Put it back together and got 2350 at max RPM.

I think, someone correct me that you are supposed to get 40 more PSI with each .10mm????? So the real test!! Just got 3 new 4'X5' round bales this morning sitting over there on the trailer. Rolled them off by hand, went up to them and stabbed into them fully by pushing against a tree. Put the lift and whoopee...... lol...... went up 3". OK a tech told me on the phone that 2500 is the top PSI. He had no manual in front of him but figured it out by the common sense method of if it came with 2200 or so then 2500PSI was max......HELP FROM SOMEONE WITH A MANUAL WOULD BE GREAT..........

So, 3" of course is far from lifting up a bale and stacking it on top of others. Back to the bench and added another .3mm. Now a reading of 2450 PSI. Result....... hold your breath......6". So...... what is the max PSI I can go with????? Would be great if it is something like 3K........At least I can now pick one up on the front and rear to move them. Also it is great to have the spear on the front to manipulate them. Like scoot them around, turn them over, and partially lift a corner to be able to get pallets situated..............

So, any ideas on top pressure???????............ Thanks for all the thoughts and encouragement......... God bless......Dennis

Here's a page that should help. Note the recommended pressure on the middle RH side of the page. Good luck.
