HELP weak pump or worn lift cylinder?

itsmesrd;4896605 It also seems that if I want to test pump pressure I will have to CUT the high pressure line and install some sort of tee in the line for the gauge. Not something I really wanted to do.[/QUOTE said:
The original design must have contemplated a way to measure and adjust hydraulic pressures without cutting into the4 system. Hopefully a manual will say more.

Can you answer my earlier questions of how a backwards turning pto can operate a bushhog?

Your photos are helpful. FYI the ones formed into heavy castings are of little use and likely contain manufacturing info such as the date it was cast.

The Aluminum label is the sort of thing that I am looking to see.

You mention a "bush hog." I keep asking you how a standard Bush hog could work when you have a reverse rotation pto.

Now as I study the underside of your tractor looking towards the rear, I see a red brush cutter that looks like someone fabricated themselves and it is not from a factory.

Did you actually see the name Bush Hog on it or were you just using a generic term?

I have been in contact with a forum friend in Australia and asked him if he can find any web sites being closer to Japan.
He has sent me a number of links which I am now going through but wont know if any of it will be useful for a while.

This link is for Asian tractors, including Mitsubishi, available as used machines that someone in Japan will sell to you and export so I think these are more current models than yours. There is no S2000 on the list of photos. I would like you to look the images over and see if any look like yours. Don't just look at Mitsubishi.
Japanese Used Tractors and Farm Machinery -MISH JAPAN TRADING CO., LTD.-

Are you aware of East Texas Tractor parts. A link to them.

Hydraulic - GoTractorParts.Com

When I look on their site I see some pumps for Mitusbishi but none that look like yours.
The also have a general section for manuals but for Mitsubishi they have none.

I have made a cropped image of the hydraulic pump on your tractor.
From your photo, I am not able to make out any info on the front of the pump where I have drawn a yellow square.

Could you see if you can make out the info on the pump which may be the company name but also the pumps capacity.
A close up photo of the pump would help me.

Do you have any friends with a tractor?

One thought would be to connect your friend's tractor to the output line on your pump in order to pressurize your system and see if your 3 pt works any better.

I would see your friend's tractor using up the oil going to your tractor and not taking any return so as to avoid any contamination of friend's tractor's hydraulics.

This 2016 notice from Mitsubishi makes it apparent that finding material or parts outside of the Asian market will always be a problem.

I contacted an ebay seller who has re-manufactured hydraulic pumps for sale. Some are for Mitsubishi tractors but none look like your pump.
I sent them a photo of your pump and asked if they could match it or in the alternative rebuild yours.

An option always available to you is to install a generic pump driven off the front of the engine. However, how much money are you prepared to spend on a tractor you paid $600 for?
From the photos, your rear tires look "near death." Ag tires that size are expensive.

Please post photos of the rear hydraulic area around and under the seat and on the floorboards.

I cranked the tractor yesterday to put it under the lean-to on side of the garage out of the rain. And tested the PTO for direction. It turns clockwise when looking from the rear. "Bush hog" is use around here to mean any sort of rear mounted lawn mower type bush cutter.
Yes the tires look likely to be original to the tractor. They have been beat to death because the person that hooked up the 3ph on the tractor didn't use the proper type or length of sway chains. Also probably the wrong length lower arms. If the bush hog isn't lifted at each hard left or right turn the bottom arms try and hang up in the tire treads. The original owner, not my nephew, is a little on the dopey side. If you know what I mean. He used the tractor for 4 or 5 years before it came to us. Very little in the way of maintenance. I've located a set of rear tires with probably 75% tread left for $500, still seems a little high. At least for me right now.
Soon as it stops raining I'll get out and see if I can get a better pic of the hyd pump.

I may have learned that patience is the key to uploading pics

You can easily extend your lower lift arms with this quick hitch device being sold by Northern tool.

The device is intended to make connecting the lower arms to an implement easy but it has the added benefit of extending the arms.

Here is the link:

I think you have an expensive PTO shaft probably made by COMER and sold world wide.

If you are going to use the quick hitch, you need to make certain your pto shaft has sufficient overlap on its two halves.

Search for COMER pto on youtube and you will find some very good videos.

I must also point out to you the danger of using a pto shaft without an external shield. These shafts can rip an arm or leg off so fast or even kill you.

Because you have a high quality pto shaft, shield parts should be readily available at most farm dealers or on line.

The number on the side of the transmission housing is just a manufacturing date and of no use to us.

Shots of the front of the front of the lift housing cover.
Could the number on the housing indicate the year the housing was made and the number of units to that point?
I agree about the danger, in fact that is how one of my uncles was killed. That point was driven home to me just the other day when I had to stop 4 times and cut off the weeds that had wrapped around the shaft to the bush hog. I really will make the PTO shield one my next purchases. I like the quick hitch maybe one day.
My plan is to work my way through the problems with the little tractor a little at a time. Fixed income doesn't help.

I think the number cast into the housing M62-73908 is likely 1973, 9th month 08 day of Sept 8, 1973.

I will study these photos and comment more later.

not sure that you will be able to see this
the flat just above the inlet has "15CHM" stamped in it
looks like "KATABA" OR "KAYABA" between top and bottom flat
Top flat has "5L-1" stamped.
I can't seem to find anything on the net about this pump
