I have not use a plow for 25 years, but this 12" plow will not go deep enough despite adjusting all possible arms. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Despite that, I have been working on my small farm with my new tractor (l3200), and it has performed flawlessly. I really love it. It does much more than I thought it could. Finally trying out the attachments I bought this Winter, But the plow may being shipped back tomorrow.

HELP!

yes single bottom, 12" but I should have gone to 14", I think it's designed for a bx sub, but not compact, wish I had pics, but remote cottage I have, currently working from panera. I will view their vids one more time I need to get it right as my time here is limited, as in vacation is only so long, but I really love my kubota.

My experience was that the 12 inch single bottom worked okay on a BX, but it works better on my B2620. It should work well on your L3200 in my gestamation.

Do you have the adjustment on the lift arms set on the lower setting? There are at least two holes in the lift arms, might be as simple as moving the pins in the lift arms to the next hole to get the depth you want.

With the plow off, measure how far above the ground your 3 point ball sockets on the lift arms are when fully down. Then measure how far above the ground the pins on the plow are when it is sitting flat. If, for instance, that both measurements are the same ( lets say 10") then your plow should go 0" deep because the 3 point won't go down any more. If the pins on the plow were 16" above the ground then you, in theory, should be able to plow 6" deep.

If you using a standard cat 1 plow the pins should be high enough to plow just fine so look to see if you have those extra holes closer to the tractor on your lift arms. If, on the other hand, you are using a cat 0 12" plow like a Brinly that has been modified to cat 1, the pins on the plow may be too low to work properly.

I had this problem on my BX25 with a Brinly cat 0 12" plow. I could plow nice furrows but only 3 or 4 inches deep. My 3 point arms would not go lower than close to 10". I didn't measure but I'll bet that the pins on my plow are about 14" above the ground. I ended up drilling a couple of extra holes in my lift arms 2" closer to the tractor and I bought another adjustable leveling rod for the left side to match the original on the right. Now my lift arms can go down to around 4-5" above the ground and the plow can go deeper. I haven't tried it yet because I bought a rototiller. I will use the plow to roll the soil back up the slope every few years as it will tend to migrate downhill. I hope this makes sense.

Ditto what others have said. Measure things. Is the plow just not cutting in?? or are the lower 3ph arms not allowing it to go any lower.

My L3400 (same as your 3200), if I pit the lift arms in the bottom hole, I can almost make the hitch ends drag the ground. Only about 3" or so from it. That should be plenty low.

You arent by chance using some type of quick hitch that makes the plow hook higher are you??

Which brings up a point -
If you need a simple extension of your lift arms (which would let them get a little closer to the ground) a set pf PEC's (Pat's Easy Change) would be a good investment.

PAts would be a good investment indeed. But with the 3200, it shouldnt be "needed" as I said, I can get my arms to almost touch the ground.

tried to load a pic and this shut down my entire interent, hmmm, things are strange lately.

anyhow, this is a borrowed computer, but I go the plow working well, by loading a large weigh (rock) onto it, recalling that my dad did this years ago. I am not sure why it worked, but it really started plowing very deep after that. Kinda strange, thanks for all your input, I tried loading a pic of me in my kubota therapy bliss, but i guess these wifi types thought the picture was over the edge. Until I get a new computer of figure it out, I will be happily plowing and tilling in prep for next year

raining hard here and I got a connection so I will try and load a vid on utube later, The tiller made hay out of the thick sod here but I think it will be a few years till the ground is great for gardening. Did I say that love this tractor?

here is my first video, but you get the idea

I think the camera guy is more interested in watching you than the plow, but we get the general idea. Glad you got it figured out.

Looks to me like you need to lengthen the top link out to level the plow out so it is actually cutting in, instead of trying to scrape along the top. The landslide should be running down in the furrow.

I thought that it might be the sweet spot by going a little more level as well, thanks for the tip. I will try it on the next little piece I plow.

You might not have the tractor tire running in the furrow and, if so would need to slide the plow over to the left. Level the plow and check the furrow and I think you will be good to go.

Lengthen the top link so the Landslide is setting close to level in the furrow. Looks to me like you need to shift the plow to the right so you are cutting the next 12" inside your right wheel (furrow wheel). Easy way to do this is use a straight edge along the Landslide and colter extending up under the tractor, then measure from there to inside of right tire, loosen the mount bolts on the tow hitch of the plow and shift the plow over as needed. This should help make the sod roll over more, leaving a smoother plowed surface.

Thanks for all your help, there is so much more to it than I realized. When I was a boy, never got that much technical instruction, now it starting to make sense.

I'll be trying these new tips on the next piece.

Looks like the extra weight did the trick. I had the opposite problem in the the plow would dig in too deep and stall my tractor. I finally adjusted the top link right and works great now. It is amazing how just that small adjustment makes a difference. Nice video
