Help with decision on Grapple

I do like the looks and engineering that went into it but is it $200.00 worth??? I don't know. Any more thoughts???
$200.00 more spread over the lifetime of the better grapple is insignificant.

Just my :2cents:.

Would a pic of the Wicked Grapple in the buff help sway your decision? She's a beauty!

Ted, I am considering purchasing a root grapple also. I see that the tine tips on your grapple angle upwards (towards the tip). I have seen some grapples where the tip angled downwards. What are the advantages of the angling up as opposed to down? It appears to me that with the tine tips angled up as yours are, the bucket must be rolled down at an extreme angle in order to engage roots.

Thanks,

Tim

I do not think you'd need to roll it down at an extreme angle because it'll probably be in the ground a few inches. The upward angle gives you more leverage for curling it back and pulling the roots up IMO.

Very true. You will learn quickly to angle the grapple depending on what you are doing. A slight angle keeps the bevel of the "teeth" parallel to the ground so you can rake. A steeper angle will cause the grapple teeth to plunge into the ground and dig, then can be curled upward to pluck roots. The angle of the EA grapple seems ideal. It works!
