I am just beginning my search for a compact tractor to be primarily used to cut grass on 5 acres of rolling terrain. No slope is steep, just gently rolling pasture land. I know I want either a 60"' or 72" field cutter, but am undecided on whether it should be a mid-mount or a rear PTO attachment. I am also considering a front end bucket (loader?) for general maintenance and will probably rent equipment when I need to till a garden or dig post holes.

I have looked at Kubota, New Holland and John Deere and believe I should get one with around 30hp. Beyond that, I am looking for recommendations.

Can you give me a list of definitions for all the abbreviations I see in text, such as SCUT, CUT, MMM, etc.
